Any Middle Ga folks doing the Wicks HPDE at Roebling in Aug? I plan on coming down because I have wanted to try out that track really bad. There will probably be a few more of us from the ATL area coming down too.

I was hesitant because I need new tires but I just read where you can rent one there. Hmmmm....let me talk to dear hubby (lawmann) some more about it now. I'll post this on our website calendar, too, maybe it'll generate more interest.

 

Spoke with Phil today. The front page only shows one day but the expanded details shows two. Two it is. I know some of the MGM gang I met in Helen were interested in the HPDE days so hopefully I will see some of you there! Found some in-car vids on youtube of the track, looks awesome!

2.2 miles -- it's a Mini track, indeed!

 

I'm in! We've asked & there are no MINIs available to rent for this event. Shaun will be there with his MINI, too, but maybe just to watch. We'll see.

Check out the "Savannah drive in July" post (these events are trying to be combined now). After the classes on Saturday we are going to catch the baseball game & do a pub run with the Coastal MINIs club.

 

At least two more are coming from the Middle GA group. One of the members just took the class at Talladega www.blabatphoto.com. She enjoyed it so much that she's going back for more at Roebling! The other member is bringing his Clubman. Woo-hoo! Can't wait!

 

I'll be there for both days as well. this will be my first event and I am really looking forward to it.

 

We look forward to seeing you there, I'll be the acting photographer for Middle Georgia MINIs, but I'll be taking photos of everyone else too. JJo will be the "designated driver" on this training session.

 

Cool! It's looking like this will be a big group with people from ATL, Charleston, Mid-GA, & Savannah coming.

Great Pictures!!! jjo, there was rumor out of Roebling Road that a sweet young lady from Kathleen Ga. was setting new track records all day and that Roger Penske was interested. Do you know anything about that??
BTW did you leave the rag top at home?? Glad you had a great time!!

 

No, I was driving my baby with the top up. Shaun was washing & waxing Cassie in the spectator area all weekend so much so that it was too shiny to get a good picture in the sun...no kidding! But you should have been there to see his face as the flock of seagulls were aiming for his Dallas stars! Yeah, not a happy camper.

A big shout out to Bryan for those great pics. The young lady from mid-GA setting track records was Becky with MINI B. She was her class winner in the time trials. And I tried to take that Pepsi Challenge as Shaun passed me in the Clubman but he lost me quickly in the first turn. Yeah, I'm not worthy! No, the only rumor you may have heard about me is that I learned quickly what the passing flag & hand signal were as everyone piled up behind me in the turns. I was just happy to be there!

Needless to say, we'll be doing the PWDA again but registering Shaun next time.
