SHRINERS Carshow, July 16
The Shriners are putting on a carshow on July 16th, from 9am to 3pm at Manchester Center, Blackstone and Shields, north east corner, Fresno.
The cost is $25 per car and includes a t-shirt.
We can enter as a group, MidCal Mini's, and if we have more than 10 we should take home the 3' plus tall group participation trouphy.
Whoever wins this trophy that make of car will be on next years t-shirt.
Lets get as many Mini's as possible, the lot holds 240 cars, so we won't run out of room.
I have plenty of entry forms and can make more if needed.
If you want one send me an email at Bradfresno@aol.com with your address.
They have never had a Mini enter, so lets make this one, one to remember.
We can meet at my house and caravan over in a group.
You don't have to be in Midcal Mini's to enter, the more the merrier.
Thanks, Brad

To make things easy for everyone, I will do all the leg work. All I need is a check for $25 made out to Tehran Shrine, shirt size, and year and model of your car. I will hand deliver the checks and aps myself.
You can enter the day of, if you do let me know before so I can get you a shirt. If we go in together they will put us together.
We will either meet at my house or at Starbuck's at Fresno and shaw infront of the Ramada Inn, next to frwy 41.

Good luck Brad getting the required 10 entries.
Maybe you should invite Gold Country (they have some southern Sacramento Valley members) as well as Norcal (with many southern "south bay area" members) that could make an easy drive of this.
Its just a little too far for us, but feel free to post it on our BBS at http://www.redwoodempiremini.com/mbb...egory-view.asp (we also have a few Sacramento Valley and south bay members that may be interested).

The carshow was fun. HOT but fun. We had 5 Mini's total. We took 2nd place in our class, Steve got it with the only convertible. We lost 1st place to a chopped bug. The biggest group had 8 entry's, the Pontiac's. They didn't end up giving out a group participation trouphy this year.
Great time had by all. Going to make this an annual event. Hope to fill it up with Mini's next year.

It was a fun day and there was a lot of interest in the MINIs. There weren't many new cars represented at the show so we sort of stuck out among the "classics." It was sort of embarrassing to be beat by a '55 VW with a continental kit front end and chrome engine, but we were classed with the VWs. The PT Cruiser had it's own class, but not one showed up (scared off by the MINIs?). Next year we will be better prepared to handle the down time and heat. We will definitely take a mid-morning break in a mall restaurant and bring a cooler with "refreshments" because the high temperature for the day was reported to be 108° and my car's temperature reading was 112° in the show parking lot. It was HOT!!! It was fun anyway and there were a lot of beautiful cars and it was all for a good cause.
(It was the other Steve's car that won second)
