ABF Performance Road Tour March 6 & 7 - Santa Clara, CA

Hey All,
Jim brought this to my attention. It sounds like a fun event and is close enough for a day run or an overnight. They will have it in Santa Clara. I wanted to post it so that you would all know about it. I know its not the best month for all of us going to AMVIV but there are a lot of us who are not going as well. The registration is not open yet for this event but I can let you know when it does. Also I am not sure on the price for the VIP registration. The web site is http://abfmotoring.com/index.html
Tina

"The 2009 - 2010 ABF Performance Road Tour, presented by MINI USA and Yokohama Tire Corporation, features two-day events at major metropolitan cities around the United States. The ten city nationwide tour provides the participants with the opportunity to experience the handling, performance, and lifestyle that is MINI.
THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
Attendees will be treated to the use of Auto-Cross type courses at each event. Ride along with professional drivers as they demonstrate the MINI's handling prowess. Then take the driver's seat and experience first-hand what makes MINI owners so dedicated to the marque
Customer satisfaction and VIP treatment are our first priority. Our professional staff of MINI Specialists are recognized and well respected by the MINI community and bring a high level of energy and fun to the events.
THE COMMUNITY
MINI owners are the most outgoing and friendly group of people around. They take pride in the individuality of the MINIs they drive. Come be lifted by their enthusiasm and see what makes owning a MINI so special.
So we're giving you all a chance to show off what makes your car unique (or just see what others have done to their MINIs). Participate in the Car Show and win trophies and prizes in over twenty categories (from Best Cooper and Cabrio to Most Miles on the Odometer).
OTHER FUN
  • Manufacturer's Midway (to find those parts you have been looking for)
  • Product Displays and Demonstrations
  • "Ask the Experts" Panels (in case you are into some serious customization)
  • Great Gifts and Giveaways
  • And, of course, food, drink, and a slew of other fun activities to enjoy
And It's Free!
Unless you want to upgrade to one of the VIP Packages, all you have to do is register to attend one of our events.

Road Tour "Ride and Drive" Registration is free and open to all prospective, current, and future MINI owners. All registrants will receive confirmation of event date and session selected. On completion of Ride and Drive session, all participants will receive gift packages including special discounts, awards, and one (1) Raffle Ticket for chance to win select prizes. Registrants will also have the opportunity to win special Trophies giving out at the end of each session."

My pleasure Tina I was told the VIP registration is $20. and this gets you a t-shirt and the main thing.....you get to drive the JCW thru the autocross They have a video of the autocross on the website....looks like a blast! We will most likely be going on Saturday, March 6th. Since it's only 2.5 hours away it will be a cool day trip for us. Hope to get a small convoy of MidCal people up there and support ABF. And Shelly, this would be a great time to be able to test drive a new S.

Ok everyone, it looks like the registration is open for ABF/MINI event. I talked to Mike at Mynes and I told him most likely the Saturday 2nd session would be the best for us. We could leave Fresno at a decent time and take our time getting there.
Talk it over at the meeting Friday and next week we can start planning. This will be a fun single day run as it's only 3 hours away, the more cars the better Here is the schedule.

You might want to check the weather report. I don't think you will be doing any cruising with your top-down. I was thinking about going but, my car doesn't leave the garage if it's going to rain.
It's supposed to rain Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
