Quick jaunt through the hills - October 20th
Chris & I are going on a jaunt into the hills of Wonder Valley on Saturday morning (as long as it's not raining). We'd meet up at my favorite new Fresno/Clovis bakery The Bread Mill (NW corner of Nees & Willow) around 9:45am for coffee and then jam out to Wonder Valley and back. We (Jill aka "Cookiehead" and I) have company late afternoon so this won't be a big chunk outta your day. Just thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone else wanted to tag along & hit some twisties. My new TSW BBK needs to get a beatin'.

Had a great time yesterday morning & am totally happy with the new CMS-installed Texas Speedwerks BBK. I had about 380 miles on the Mini since BBK installation so in the first 10 minutes of the drive I could definitely smell the brakes. Let me tell ya', other than the smell of napalm in the morning, there isn't another better scent. Also, for those of you who are running cat-back exhausts only & haven't taken the plunge on an upgraded header/cat, do it. I felt significantly more torque with my new header/cat & the sound reverberating off the mountains was enough to wake the dead.
Here's a map of our trip, so you can put this drive on your "to do list": http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...5,0.85144&z=11

Sorry, for whatever reason NAM's not accepting my image placement at the moment.

I saw your posting and was tempted but I really had to go up to Atwater to toss cones because alot of regulars were over at Laguna for the ALMS. As a retired guy I like these short notice drives. I'm in if at all possible next time.
OK i'm cool with that, Lets meet in fresno at 7am so we can still make it to visalia by 9 or so and get started.

I'm cool to help to guys! We could jam through the hills Fresno->Visalia assist the Chefmeister with cleanup & then scoot back to Fresno to see our respective old ladies. (Note: ladies on NAM, the term "old lady" is meant as a only as a term of endearment & doesn't connotate, relate &/or infer any age, etc. etc.. Cookiehead lets me call her this.

Its alittle more than just clean up.
But if your willing to help, we need all the help we can get.

Ok, so describe what's meant by "clean up". Are you talking tree trimming & general yard care or "it so bad we need 3 John Deere's and at least a week to clear cut"? We have a couple items scheduled from 3pm-11pm which I need to be in town for.
The work involved is to install a complete back yard
or at least dig trenches, install drains, electrical and plumbing, along with rototilling the entire back yard and possibly pouring some concrete. I could use all the help I can get.
So today started with Fracky, Chris and myself meeting up at thr Blossom Trail Cafe on Acadamy and Belmont. Nice place and great for a bite before jumping of on our runs. It is convenient for those coming from all areas.
Today we started our run up Kings Canyon Hwy. we turned off on Ruth hill and took this to Sand hill and wound down to beautiful downtown Orosi (lol) and on to my place in Visalia. This was ans excelent run with lots of good twisties and a few sections of non stops "s" turns where you could build a good rythum. This run could be combined with the Wonder valley loop and it provides convienient return to the fresno area for those who desire.
After the run we proceded to rent a Trench digger and dig the $h!t out of my yard. On sunday Chris and I will install the Drains, Electrical and plumbing.
I send out a big Thanks to Chris and Fracky!!!

Yep, it was awesome to hit the twisties with Steve/Minichef & ChrisW (both of whom are great drivers btw) at the crack of dawn this past Saturday morning (10/27). For those of you who'd like to hone your driving skills, these are great trips to push you Mini & get a feel for limits and your car's capabilities. Bonus, whatever you need to enhance your car's handling can easily be taken care of by calling: 559.320.0004 (CMS). You're welcome for the assistance Minichef! Note: Pictures of our run yesterday have been posted in the club photo album: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=113724.

Chris & I have talked about going on another run through the hills on Saturday morning, 8:30am'ish. We both have stuff to do later in the day, so this is another quickie run to get some aggressive drive-time in & get more comfortable with your Mini's abilities.
