Mid Ohio Vintage Grand Prix?

Anyone planning to attend this event? Mrs and I are planning a long weekend there (Aug 18th-20th) and celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary...Want to meet up?

I like to enter the British Car event on Saturday...any advice on which ticket to purchase for the whole weekend?

Thanks,
Sid

I'll probably be there on Saturday. MINI or MG, that is the Question!

pitlane tickets are a good way to go, week-end pass if you'll be there for all the festivities.

Sid, get the Weekend ticket. Paddock is free, grandstands are free, infield parking is free, car show registration is free, parade laps on the track are...well you know.

I'll be there with my Cooper for all 3 days. That ticket is $45, and I feel it is a decent price for all it offers.

Weekend General Admission is only $30 at the gate, $24 in advance. Don't know if we're going or not yet Sid. If so it would be all weekend.

I'm on a crew for one of the racers, so I will be there! Sat/Sun for sure, possibly Fri too. Most likely I'll be driving down in the MINI, hope to meet you guys!

This "special ticket" thing is something new. In all my experience, your GA ticket allowed you to enter the British car show for no additional charge. Looks like this Car Club ticket gets you into hospitality also? If you get two admissions plus whatever else for $60 that's not too bad. Might want to contact MidOhio for the specifics on this new thing.

Okay I called MidOhio and got the poop. The Car Club ticket gets you access to Hospitality which is the deck above the refreshment stand in the esses. Water, pop, snacks etc. provided. It is NOT necessary to have a Car Club ticket to enter the car shows and do parade laps. All you need is the $24 Weekend ticket, unless you want the hospitality.

Which would probably be kinda cool....

Her's how it looks to me:

2 weekend general admissions 60$ total at the gate.

2 weekend general admissions 48$ total advance purchase.

1 person with hospitality 45$

2 people with hospitality 60$.

The 45$ ticket says one weekend pass while the 60$ ticket says two passes. I would call 1-800-midohio to order to be SURE we're understanding it right. They're very helpful.

Yes, it is, and worth every cent...especially since we can take part of that lap around a course I've always admired, but have never driven. I'll be there for the Show, as well..especially since Silk Green is so rare.

The last time I was there was nearly 7 years ago at my last Super Kart race (shifter)

The parade laps are a very slow process....lots of cars to get on the track. Single file, no passing, but the trick is to hold back to get a gap in front of you so you can blast through the turns.

Take a cooler because drinks are $2.75!

I learned that real quick from the experience at the SAE parade...heard you guys in the back had good reason to go triple digits

What day are you going?

If we go it will be for the weekend, but I don't know yet. Vacation time is scarce.

I'll be there on Friday & possibly Sat & Sun. Friday is a great day to roam the paddock. Not many people in the way. Great for photographers.
