Sid are you gonna bring your MINI? I definitely want to find you and hang out sometime that weekend.

My wife and I are looking to be there for the weekend. My question however is about the parade lap. Does anyone know if helmets are going to be required or is it more of a sunday drive around the course? And I am assuming you need to be registered in the British car showdown to take the parade lap.

You need to be in the show I believe...

Sid, I really don't think you need to stay so far away to keep your car safe, but it's up to you.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn Bellville for the GrandAm race. They were sold out yet I was still able to park in a spot with no one around. You have to call them directly to ask about rooms for the Vintage weekend. Number's (419) 886-4000. They also have a Quality Inn across the street.
The other place I know has rooms is the Country Inn and Suites, Mansfield. Close to the track and even closer to our favorite restaurant the Brown Derby Roadhouse!

Anyone planning on going to the Out Motoring Modfest before the races on the 19th?

good point.
Back when i was like 5 or 6 years old my dad took me to this mid-ohio vintage race, and from that day on i always told him that i would buy a mini cooper "when i grew up" because it was my favorite car at the race. Little did i know they would be making a new one right when i turned 16

Fine then, I called them. (do I have to do everything around here?)
They have rooms available but they are $135 per night! Race weekend premium obviously.
For that kinda money I'd go to the Country Inn. $129 per night for a two room suite. AAA discount drops that at least 10% if you have it.

You're too nice Paul...Honestly, for that amount, I think I'll use the money saved on hotel for gas money each day while we enjoy a leasurely cruise to and from the race...afterall, I'd hate to be parked all weekend while there...
It might be dumb, but if you wanna try saving some money...check for hotels in Mount Vernon. It's a small little town right by my college. It's a 15 minute drive tops to the track....and it's nice back country roads.
Granted, it's only worth it if the price is much lower....but it's worth a try. I'm hoping that i can sleep in my apartment at school...fingers croseed cause i don't know how early they are opening it up

I'll meet you at Oberon...just give me the address and I'll key it into my nav...oops, I had to ask you do something again...
You'll pass the Roadhouse on your way to the track. Corner of 314 and 309, shortly after you get off 30.
I still have to talk to Theresa seriously about whether we want to go. Did you order tickets? Which ones?
