Our newest addition!

Check out what Amy just bought!

2004 Cooper S, electric blue with the HK stereo, sunroof and the sport seats. VERY clean. MAG trade-in according to the paperwork and a call to the service desk. She'll pick her up Tuesday!

Love the stripe-less look, but maybe some orange wheels.

Wow! Looks great. Welcome to the world of driving two MINIs to events... but it is nice having your own little 'caravan' whenever you both have to drive

She's looking at boot and bonnet stripes now, along with a euro-plate and some other goodies. Gotta get a grille badge holder from Aaron as well... New wheels and tires are on her list too - the ones on the car now are pretty much shot.

Those S heavies could serve as winter rims. Take a look at Tire Rack they have some good prices on rims. I'd recommend 16" wheels for driving in our pot hole encrusted city.

Yep - I was thinking the exact same thing. She's looking at 17" tires on a new set of sportier wheels for her Spring/Summer and the stock Heavies with a new set of winter rubber for Fall/Winter. I personally like the look of the Kumhos and they're very affordable over at Tire Rack.

these are the wheels she likes - definitely something different than anyone else is running I think:

Oh, and Amy just named the car "Mira" ("peace" in Serbian). She's really antsy and wants the car now - can't say I blame her..

I like that wheel choice it is different and would look HOT if painted black or dark grey.

Nice wheels, go for it Amy!

As far as black or dark grey go, well just don't wash the wheels they will be black in very short order.

No kidding...

She's going to need brakes probably before the spring driving season - I'm thinking of putting the green lower-dust pads on this car. People are still liking those, even through they don't quite have the stopping power of the stock brakes, yes?

I'd recommend Hawk ceramics. Very little dust & what dust there is, is lighter colored. Not as much initial bite as the stock coal dust pads, but better at taking the heat than stock coal pads. I have them & like them, I liked them enough to put a second set on after I wore the first ones out. You can get them from our fearless unleader Aaron.

Awesome Chuck - thanks. Do they have a slot for the wear sensor? I know that some of the aftermarket pads do not...

They do have slots for wear sensors! I am getting ready to get a set for my rear wheels.

The ones that I have used had a slot for the front sensor, but not the rears. Maybe Hawk has added the sensor slot to the rears. When I installed the brakes on mine I just bundled the sensors out of the way with a couple of tie wraps. I didn't see a need for the sensors in my case.

Do you get an idiot light if you bundle them aside like that though?

No you don't Matt. The only way the light turns on is if you wear the brakes down enough to trip the sensors. The sensors wear though causing an open in the circuit that turns on the light. I never run my brakes till they are as thin as an index card, if you have the light go off that is about how much brake you have left.

OMG I'm exhausted... I decided to wash, claybar, polish and wax both MINIs today. There's definitely no economy of scale that kicks in when doing all that washing, taping, polishing and wiping lemme tell you.

But, the results sure are sweet... check out that shine, baby!! (Sorry for the quality - definitely not "Chuck quality", but I was literally too exhausted to go in and get my camera, so the iPhone had to suffice...)

At the end of a long day, Mira pauses to admire the sunset...

Annnnd... not to be outdone, I took the opportunity to install a set of Aaron's bumper lamp brackets and a set of Hella 500 tinted driving lamps. Guess I'm just a glutton for punishment. Oi, does my back ache!
