Hot dam congratulations this is very exciting. Unfortunately with the little one it is hard to get out to karaoke bars I hope she does not sing the Meatloaf song where the one person asks to sleep on it!

What day is this on? We are watching my nephew on Friday night, but I think Saturday night might be open.

That worked for us too. The money we saved was used to buy parts for the rally car.

You're serious?
Well we aren't looking to rush things just yet. Thu's family is Vietnamese (well she is too but she was born here so that makes her more American right? LOL) and they have all kinds of traditions. So she wants to keep some of them, wish it were that easy, but there is alot of family involved. LOL

Thanks for the tip though.
Oh I was also wondering what "elope" was.

You sneek off & just get married. No muss no fuss. It's 2 b: below......

Main Entry: elope Pronunciation: \i-ˈlōp\ Function: intransitive verb Inflected Form(s): eloped; elop·ing Etymology: Anglo-French aloper, esloper to abduct, run away Date: 1628 1: to slip away : escape <might have mistaken him for…some scarecrow eloped from a cornfield — Washington Irving>2 a: to run away from one's husband with a lover b: to run away secretly with the intention of getting married usually without parental consent

Just start a new tradition of getting married in a stranger's living room then using the money you would have spent on the wedding as a downpayment on a house.

Honestly to each their own, Jill and I are very practical people and just could not rationilize spending the money on a traditional wedding. We did have a reception a few months later at a state park, so friends and family had an oportunity to give us gifts and wish us well.

We had a lot of family involved too. Robb and I had a "more traditional" style wedding (if you can call getting married outside at 10:30 am at an Audubon center traditional ) We didn't see the point of going into debt for a wedding either so we spent smart and pulled in a lot of family and friend help to get stuff done without spending a lot of money. No matter how you do it have fun and good luck

Congrats! It was so nice meeting you guys at the lunch and now this!!!

Happy b-days too!!!

You have to do what you want about the wedding but remember the old relatives live for that stuff. We (now x-husband) did a simple wedding and just a nice simple luncheon for our family. Everyone still talks about that compared to the wedding event & the bomb my step sister paid for hers.

Spawn (Katie) was thrilled to hear the news too and said "how cool"!

We used the money to buy furniture and save for a house down payment. Which if I figure this out just right everything we did from that point on allowed us to get the MINI!
