April 18, 2009: AMISH Drive THIS Saturday. If you're up for a little Drive and Lunch in Amish Country you may want to jump in line for the Amish Country Drive after Breakfast this Saturday. Our good friend Chuck Ashton has planned this and many other events that we hop you will enjoy. There is no cost to be a part of any of the events other than your own expenses.

Aaron, thanks for posting the list. Here are a couple of additions.


May 23rd...RiverRun is in it's 15th year. Eric Jones did 14 of them before this. We are hoping that this years edition is would be one he'd be proud of.



May 16... Is MINI morning breakfast & is also the day the AARA old fart vintage dirt car racers are in Washington Courtyhouse. I'm hoping we can have some MINI folks drive down again this year. It was a blast last year.



June 19-20... Mid-Ohio America's best race track hosts the Grand Am races.




June 26-28... Mid-Ohio Vintage races. Some of the most beautiful cars you will ever see. Mini is the featured marque this year.

Just an interesting FYI, my mom had the guy who painted that barn in school a number of years ago. There are a bunch of those barns all over Ohio, he also painted some of the Bicentenial barns in each of the counties.

 

August 1st IS also be the Dayton British Car Day show that is held annually at Eastwood Metropark in Dayton, OH. Trying to find 100% proof that this is the date, but I'm 95% sure.

Always a nice day, with plenty of shade, nice cars and wonderful setting!

Join us on Saturday, August 1st to celebrate the 25th anniversary of British Car Day in Dayton, Ohio; the largest all British show in the Midwest. Over 350 cars will converge on Eastwood MetroPark. The featured marques this year will be Morgan, in honor of their 100th anniversary, and the Mini, honoring their 50th anniversary. Entrants will compete for participant choice awards in 32 classes. In addition, the Rangers Choice, Royal Air Force Award, Longest Drive and Best of Show presented by the British Museum of Transportation will also be awarded. While the cars are displayed on the shaded, grass showfield, there will be vendors with new and used parts and memorabilia, a full service concession stand featuring grilled food and beverages and more than 100 door prizes for entrants. Advance registration of $15 will include a free 2009 BCD t-shirt if received before July 17, 2009. Dash plaques are guaranteed for the first 325 entries. Day of show registration is open until noon and is also $15 per car. Spectators are admitted free. The MG Car Club-SW Ohio Centre, Miami Valley Triumphs and Five Rivers MetroParks, presents the show. Would be great to get a HUGE mini/MINI (bit of an oxymoron there...) since it's the 50th anniversary and all...
