On Saturday August 9th the AARA group (Antique Auto Racing Association) is going to be having a free event in Washington Court House at the Fayette county fairgrounds on the dirt track. All of the cars are between 1920 & 1940 vintage. Heck they are older than I am. I went to this last year & it was so much fun.

My plan is to leave the Bob Evans on I 71 & Stringtown Rd. at 10 am. We'll take back country roads to Washington Court House & arrive at 11 am or so. The dirt car demonstration laps start at noon so we will have time to look closely at these fine old cars. Then we'd leave by 2 pm or so & take the back roads with a stop at Adena on the way to Chillicothe & a final stop at Sumburger.

Let me know if you want another tour. If you do I'll lay one out. I'm hoping you do. It will be fun!

I'll give it some thought, but Francie will be in Spain and I'll be getting ready for a Drivers School at Putnam Park, the same weekend everyone else is headed to Mid Ohio. I'm not sure my dog can take another run like the one we did earlier this year, and I don't want to leave him at home or put him in a kennel.

 

Just an FYI.... The roads we will be using aren't the type used on River Run. Different topography where we're going. Very dog friendly.

Oh the leaves are still going to be green at this time of year. Fall comes much later.

I guess if folks want a fall tour I'd be up for doing one. I'd like people to let me know if they'd want one. I have you down as a yes Jeff.

I drove the route today & you should all be glad I did. I was lost in some kind of time warp in Darbyville. But everything is going to be just fine. You should enjoy the drive.
