I was just looking at the schedule for Mid-Ohio and was wondering if anyone was planning on going to either the EMCO Gears Classic (Grand Am Rolex and Koni Challenge Series) on 6/20 - 6/22 or the Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio on 6/27 - 6/29? I really doubt that I can do both, but definetly would like to do one of the two.

 

I plan on going to both.

Most likely on June 21 for the Grand AM, because Barbara & I will be at Nelson Ledges on Friday June 20.

I'll be at Mid-Ohio for the Vintage races too. An old fart can't miss this event. Friday June 27 & Saturday June 28.

I would be interested in going to the vintage races, but need to check the calendar that is one month out for Jill so I might need to stay close to home.

 

Just tell her to stay in bed and not move all day, problem solved.

 

I'm going down for the triple crown tuner challenge (I won last year)
It's run with the Emco ... If you want to run the Mini they have two track events

Lots of people really enjoy seeing the view of the track out their own windscreen. Me, I find driving so slow on a race track a very frustrating experience. I will however take your picture if you do go on the track tour.

July 18-20 is the American LeMans & Indycar weekend. With an appearance of the Koni Challenge series. The RSR MINI's run in it!!!

 

When I looked today I thought it said the the Koni Challenge Series was part of the EMCO Gears Classic.

I am switching and a buddy of mine from High School is going to join me at the races on the 21st, he might join me at Nelson as well!

 

I have to check but I might go on the 28th. We got there too late last year for the parade lap around the track. It was a nice day. Is that the day of the parade & what time? I'm at work the website is blocked.

 

This past Tuesday... I was invited up for a half day Porsche driving event... I had the pleasure of driving 14 different Porsches around the big track and after driving 110 mph plus all day the trip back south to Columbus on 71 at 70 mph made me feel like I was walking... a very good experience and the closest I've ever come to racing... I liked it!!!

 

How did you get invited to that?

 

I guess MAG is so heartbroken that I traded my Porsche in on my MINI...that they invited me up to try to suck me back into another Porsche.... they know my lease is about up on the little ladies ride... I must admit that it was an impressive display, very impressive!! But... being an old guy... I need to keep myself in check and put more money toward my retirement... besides said little lady has her sights set on her own MINI... you know how it goes guys... whatever the princess wants particularly since I'm in love with my new MINI!!

Truth be told MINI's make fine track cars. And old farts do just fine mixing it up with the young guns on track.
