Hello all...

My ECU is heading to Jersey in 8 days (:D ) and I'm scheduled for a loaner while my brainless car is out of commission. I was just wondering what kind of laoners people have gotten from MoP so I can determine the extent of my disguise when I pick it up. Will some dark shades suffice, or am I going to need a wig/nose/Billy Bob teeth/etc?

Seriously... what will I be driving? (well, approximately, anyway)

Toast, don't settle for anything less than a Z8! Seriously though I have no idea what they are planning on offering up. Be sure to let us know though because I am curious too.

PS: You missed a good time at QS&L! Mike drove all that way and you didn't even show up! I had to show him my **** which, by no surprise just isn't the same as your ****

Hope your Mini's brain comes back soon!

Ok... so I specifically made the appointment to coincide with an available loaner car. But when I got to P&W this morning, they had all magically disappeared! "They're all gone," the tech said. So I told him to give back my car, as I couldn't be without one for several days. Instead, he sent me across the street to Enterprise to pick up a rental, with the promise that he'd call me the very second a loaner came back into the shop. It should be noted that I'm not holding my breath waiting for that call.

I now have the dirtiest, smokiest, smelliest, fugliest Chevy Impala ever. There's a dent on the trunk that appears to have been made from the inside, but the Enterprise guy assures me that they remove the bodies prior to renting the car out again...

The Enterprise guy also said that P&W regularly sends over disgruntled servicees who were promised loaner cars, but weren't supplied with any when they dropped their car off at the appointed time.

Aye Carumba.

Sounds like a case for the dealer rating system. Please tell me you at least have a CD player!

^^ Oh no... no no no... a CD player? Chris! That's a luxury the Impala could ill afford. But I was rockin' the dual zone climate control...

I called the dealership and did a little irate bitching and, lo and behold, they called me at about 3:30 to tell me they had a loaner come back. I replied that I couldn't make it in until about 5 (normal, I think, considering most people who need a rental car need it because they work) and was told that they would "try to hang on to it until then." Whatever. Thankfully I was only busy shuttling my mother around and I *wasn't* working, and she was glad to miss the rest of her day at work, so we went directly to the dealership.

I got a spankin' new 2004 CR/CR CVT
Loaded. From what I can tell, everything but leather and some of the more inane "accessories". Has the big honking cup holder, though. Man... that thing is ugly.

Can't wait to figure out the CVT, though. Should entertain me for the next few days.

P&W has been temporarily removed from my poo list, even though I do think they handled the situation crappily, in general. Now that I have a MINI, I'm just too happy to care.

Patricia took our car over to Sterling today, and was hoping for the mythical loaner. Instead got a Suburban from Enterprise!! She says she feels like she needs to find something to haul!!!

Sterling however is really cheesy about loaners from Enterprise. They claim that they do in fact have loaners, but when they are out you go to Enterprise (fair enough) except regardless of the reason, they will only pay for 1 day. After that the owner pays.

Hopefully they will finish the car before she needs to come home and relieve me of baby duty. I've got a final tonight and can't be late...

A SUBURBAN????? My mother was convinced that it couldn't get any worse than the Impala... I told her it could...

Perhaps Sterling would let Patricia haul around the MINI until they got around to looking at it. I imagine she could either hitch it to the back, or just put the back seats down...

Speedy recovery to your MINI! A Suburban... that's just awful...

Actually the report back was that the Suburban was an '04 w/leather seats (but not heated) and in good condition. Heck it even handled well.

We really aren't anti-SUV people.... especially when the other option was a Neon!

It looks like the MINI needs to go back though. We get a lot of wind noise from the top of the driver's side window. Started a few months ago, when you get up to about 85 or so it gets really loud and the window actually shakes. It doesn't sound like they fixed it though...
