New 7-Character License Plates in Texas

So, do any D/FW MINIs now have something new to say with the new LPs?

Are you talking about the myplates.com plates? I can't get over how much the 7-character plates cost! I guess the fact that they offer layaway tells us something about how expensive they are!

I'd love to get one, but that's a lot of moolah!

No doubt it's too expensive if you go for a year. But if you find one you like however - and you go long term - it's comparable with most states.

I'm pleased with what I ended up with .

Nice plate! And, you are certainly correct about the long term cost savings.

Husband & I do not like the "new & improved" Texas plates (waaay too many colors going on), so I was looking at myplates.com this past weekend. I plan get him a black & white plate for his new Light White CM (if it ever gets here!). I think I will get the same design as yours, but we might go with random numbers/letters. He likes the idea of a custom plate with something related to MINI on it, but he historically trades cars fairly often so I'm not sure investing long term in a plate with a MINI-centric theme is a good idea for him. Would look silly on his next car if it's not a MINI!

Oh, the standard-issue Texas LP is garish! I like the style of the one I'm getting and would probably go with a random character one if I couldn't get a slogan I liked - it's a clean, "magnificent in it's simplicity" look.

Well said!! Supposedly, there was a vote and this was our winner. They must have asked only prostitutes and drag queens to vote.

The standard issue plate is embarrassingly ugly. The State of the Arts specialty plate (with the Texas flag motif large and prominent) should be the standard design. Maybe they purposely chose an ugly design to encourage sales of the custom ones.
