How many Rhode Islanders are in here?
Anyone up for a drive out to the Vanilla Bean in Pomfret CT. I've been there with a few buddies on motorcycles. The place caters to motorcycles and car buffs.

Tentative date: Sun. Aug. 23rd

I am new to mini-dom, I will see what the schedule brings for the 23rd. I still hang with my other car club too and they have a meet coming up, som I am not 100% sure. I will post back. I am looking to meet some Mini owners and learn a thing or two about these cars.

I am from the Cranston/Providence area.

 

Well, you'll have one more MINI in RI within the next two weeks. My son Tyler is heading up to Providence for his final two years at Johnson & Wales. He just finish his associate from the Charlotte, NC campus and heads up there for his Bachelors in nutrition. He's got a 07 MCS which started out as mellow yellow, but after a few idiot NC & VA drivers as well as some vandalism we repainted the car a pretty neat pearl yellow. Basically a variation of the Honda S2000 color with more pearl in the clear.

Anyway, he'll be up there and he's grown up around cars, in fact we both sit here now sunburned from an autocross. We'll probably get up that way too with our Clubman S from time to time, so we'd probably hook up with y'all too. I'll point him in your direction here. That is if he can find time to do anything but lurk!

 

Nice to hear from you guys. I'm in the Edgewood area of Cranston.
My wife also goes to J&W. She's getting her MBA in international marketing strategies. Doesn't sound like things are going to work out for Sun. Maybe some other time this summer or early fall.

 

I don't think there are any other drives scheduled for that day with the MMC. Maybe I'll see you there.

Well the kids up in Providence at Johnson & Wales. He's pretty well settled in, but school has him busy. And, he needs a job, so if anyone up there has a job for a smart, well mannered, good looking (he gets that from Dad!) let me know. other than that, I still need to get him online here at NAM.

Ha, ... I live about 5 minutes away from Vanilla Bean. PM me if you guys decide to go there. I just don't have a streetable Mini anymore though. :(

I'm from Cranston (near Roger Williams Park).. a pepper white 09. MC

to the OP... I go to the Vanilla Bean all the time. I've been going there since I was a little kid with my parents. I'm there at least 3-4 times a month .. more in the summer. I don't ride a motorcycle though... lol.

Beautiful roads to drive on out there... 169 from Woodstock to Brooklyn is heaven.

 

In RI Route 3, 165, 102, etc. are a real nice way to stay off the boring roads, on a bike or a MIN!

 

We need a Rhode Island Mini run...

 

My buddy just informed me that on Wed's Nights there is always a little car get together in the parking lot of Stop&Shop Plaza. He said last time he was there couple of mini's showed up.
