FS: Focus SVT w euro package

Well I can never make up my mind. So I am thinking about selling it.

It has just over 10k miles and a fresh aligment. Oil changed at 6k with Amsoil 0w-30. (Next oil change will be at 11k). I have washed and vacummed the car weekely as well as conditoined the weather at least twice a month. It has the stock wheels and tires as well as 17" Borbet type t's with Toyo Proxes tires, K&n drop in air filter, Upper strut bar, Alpine radio with XM satilite radio. Since it is a Euro model it has all the options Leather recaro's, heated seats, heated mirrors, sunroof, traction control, Xenon lights, subwoofer, Alpine XM radio, (Plus 7yr/100k warranty) . The car has given me Zero problems.

I just want a mini cooper S again (Trades Considered).

Make me a resonable offer :D(I know what my payoff is).

I just KNOW you want to do a staight-up swap for my wife's '93 Tercel.

Seriously, good luck with the sale, looks sweet ... and welcome back to the dark side.

hmmm although a Tercel is quite the versatile car (track car/ drag racer/ grocery getter/ babe magnet) I think I will have to pass.

we will see what happens

Well, I have an 03 euro SVT focus with ten thousand miles on it. I wouldn't trade it in on a S. You would loose too much money on your car as a trade, and your car is just as good. I test drove both cars before I bought the SVT, and they handled exactly the same. the reason I picked the SVT over the S was "bang for the buck". The SVT came with 170hp,145tq, 6spdgetrag, engine block heater, hid headlights, sunroof, six disc indash cd player subwoofer w/ amplifier, c/c, leather recaro seats, traction control, cold weather pkg, and 17" alloys. All for 21,000. The S was was 20,450with no optios. After I added up everything that the SVT had the S was almost 30,000 with less hp and a s/c. don't get me wrong, I LLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVE the S. It's one of the best looking cars out there, and I hope to own one when I can find a good deal on a used one but, let's call it like it is, the S is way over priced. I would post pics but I don't know how to on this site

Well from my Butt-O-Meter the S outhandles an SVT anyday, is easier to drive in traffic, and has a smaller turning radius. I will not argue that I got more for my money when I bought my SVT, but for pure driving fun the S brought more smiles per miles.

That might be all true, but does it come with the "grin you can't wipe off your face"?

Uhh... I see where Ford cut costs. It looks like they used a magic marker to paint your dash!

It's a wide world out there, with plenty of other cars that can induce grins like that. No need to bash the Focus here.....

not for nothin' but my MCS was $23K (not $30K) and i got every option except leather (leatherette just as good and lasts longer-not needed in a car under $30K IMO), NAV (again not needed for my purposes in this type of car my opinion) and rain sensing wipers. and i got 3 years free scheduled maintanance and a 4 yr./50K warranty that was one of the biggest selling points for me, not to mention this grin on my face that just won't go away every time i drive the damn thing.

I am not out to bash the Focus, but also I am not the one that signed up to the Focus forum to talk about my MC

Anyway, to each his own, I agree ... but to compare the Focus to the MCS ... sorry, but no way.

I'd rather push a Mini than drive a Ford.

Seriously, though...good luck with the sale.

I have a friend with a SVT. It is a great car! Especially for a family. Handles great, goes good, and seats 4 better than a MCS. I can not believe that Ford could not sell a million of the SVT's and that they have discontinued them in their present form. If my family was getting larger, (it's getting smaller), a SVT is what I would have!

My friend had an svt. It was pretty decent but it started making some kind of weird noise in the engine compartment around 30k miles..some kind of zig zagging type of noise. His hids were not very good either and his dash lights would intermittently cutoff. Ford said there was no fix. Otherwise, it was a pretty good car.

As far as the low resale value of the SVT if you would have bought a S in the first place you would not have to worry about losing so much in the first place. The desirability of the car as well as the discounts given when the car is purchased plays a role in the resale value. But you knew that first hand, didn't you?

The only Focus I would trade my MINI in for is the Focus RS, and since we don't get that over here (thanks Ford, very typical of you to give your U.S. customers the absolute worst cars you build) I'll stick to my MCS. BMW > Ford

good evening.

I don't know about anyones "butometter" but, as far as handling goes heres some hard #'s sport compact car tested mcs=slalom 69.1 mph skid pad .86g's. svt=slalom 71.5 mph skid pad .89g's. both cars cars tested by same mag in stock form. that info was for everyone that chimmed in and tried to say that the svt didn't handle as good as the mcS. I didn't come on this forum to talk about the focus but I noticed this thread and thought I would express my opinion. If I had it all to do over, I would bye the mcS as I think it is way cooler looking then the svt and from what I've seen a larger aftermarket. I just wouldn't trade it in and loose that much money on any car not just the mcS. book value on a mint euro svt is 14,500 (thats what an evo dealer offered me) but most dealers wont give him more then 12,000. If he owes 16,000 or more, he's going to loose about 4 grand. Put that on top of the base price of a mcS and now your close to 25 grand. All for a car that handles the same with the same amount of hp. I wasn't willing to let the dealer make four grand off of me on an evo and that had all-wheel drive and 271hp. Again, When I can get out of my svt without loosing any money then I'll get my mcS. Probably by the end of next year. In the mean time my svt will keep a smile on my face.
