need horn from italy
anyone have a shop in italy were I can buy this in town horn that makes a peculiar sound. I was stationed there and I guess that is were I need to go. it sounds like neener neener. low tone so as not to p.o. the other driver's.
I remember, many moons ago, I had a Renault Dauphine(a 4CV as well) and the Dauphine had a town and country horn. You rotated a switch and a little beep for the city...back the other way for a BIG BEEP for the country. I have to admit though, at the time I lived in NYC and I always had the BIG BEEP switched on

A navy friend of mine just came back from Naples and he knows what I mean so he is going to try to get someone to investigate for me. I will post when I have more info. Thanks for your input..
Sounds good. And by the way, I got 'horny' in Naples once or twice myself, so maybe your bud will have some luck

Not an Italian horn, but I once got a flyuer from a trade show that offered a TRAIN horn modified to be able to be used in a car. Too bad the flyer had ABSOLUTELY NO CONTACT INFO! I was so upset! How cool would THAT be? Mwahahaha. NOONE would go slow in front of a person with one of those.
The brand you are looking for is Fiamm and you can find them all over the place in the U.S. This is the brand Ferrari, Alph Romeo, etc uses. Here's their US home page...

I had one on another car and it does make that destinctinve sound quite loudly, but it crapped out after only a year, but it was the cheapest air horn they sold. The more expensive ones may last longer (going on the get what you pay for idea).
I've been thinking of getting one for my MINI because I don't like the big car sound of the BMW horn. They are fun, but do tend to scare and **** people off (a good thing right?)..
