Cool item, but I ended up keeping the regular cover under the dash there.
Price is $135 for a local sale here in Los Angeles-

I packed it up for shipping, and was quoted $111 (including insurance) to go to the northeast, so it is more likely to be a local (southern California) purchase-

For estimating shipping costs: the box is 23 x 17 x 12 inches, weighs 4 lbs, and the origination is the Burbank/Glendale area.
For anybody local, also consider the M7 rear brace, and the Stern RSD bar and net:

This is utterly false.
If you did send money to someone, please check who it was. You may have been scammed, but it was not by me.

@coyle996 please note that you were in communication with a scammer whose account name was very similar as the OP from this thread. The OP of this thread is "area53" and the scammer you were in contact with was "area53." Note the period at the end.
This is one of several common practices with scammers, which is not specific to this site.

I believe it’s time for some changes for new members to access the marketplace, and particularly messaging. IB should be pro active in these matters, as they are becoming a common occurrence. Was area53. a new member? Did he have previous posts? If so, how many? A good place to start would be placing a minimum post requirement, so members can look at their interaction history.
There already is/was. Scammers (and Spammers) are nothing new to the Internet. It doesn't matter which community or platform. They adapt and make an effort to get just one scammed. That's their job, so restrictions are not the end solution. I don't know how much more pro-active you can be without being psychics, but at the end of the day you need to use best judgement and either accept the deal or pass after doing some research and weighing the transaction.
Bottom line, just make it impossible to post in the Marketplace or PM anyone without 25 legit forum posts and 6 months time since initial registration. That alone will deter a lot of scammers. Then, as you suggested, leave it to us to research what those 25 posts were over that 6 month period. I think from there, you'd get a good idea of who's legit and who's scum of the earth. Yes, some people may sneak through, but that along with a GOOD scam warning sticky post, and then I'd say you've done your part. BTW, I've been on other auto forums that REQUIRE paid membership subscriptions to post cars or car parts for sale (like $35 a year)... I don't think you have to go that far (yet)...but please do something for crying out loud. </rant off>
