Last I heard, they were shooting for a May opening - anyone know if they have a firmer date yet?

 

What we heard from Robin Hellrood, General Manager of MINI of Madison at our recent meeting was June 11/12. With a possible early tour for the MadCityMINI group. They will know more shortly. Building structure appears mostly finished. MINI has a specified time line for all the elements which have to be in place and the opening date. So expect some firm dates by June.

I know this is short notice for long distance travel, but here are the details of our first tour of MINI of Madison.

MINI of Madison is now officially open! We have the opportunity to visit the new dealership and have a private behind-the-scenes tour with General Manager Robin Hellrood. If you will be there, please RSVP to MadCityMINI with the names of those attending.

Exit 262 toward Rimrock Rd. (County Road MM)
Turn north on Rimrock Rd. (toward the Alliant Energy Center)

I forgot to steal a flyer when I took my MCS there for a limp mode checkout. They have an "official" Grand Opening shindig scheduled for the 15th.

Socialize with people from MINI, MINI USA, Zimbrick, MINI of Madison, Mad City MINI, Madison Sports Car Club and other MINI owners/enthusiasts. The showroom and service areas will be open to the guests for the event. Food & refreshments will be available (no alcohol at this event due to the next item). And there will be an Autocross track set up in the back. Participants in the autocross will be broken down by various models and whether it is an S or not. Prizes given for fastest and "I care more about my MINI than any amount of time it takes me to drive somewhere". Autocross participants can bring an track rated helmet if you own one or there will be loaners with balaclavas available. All MINI of Madison Staff will be present and available to help you enjoy yourself. P.S. they are having a hard time keeping the stuffed MINI bulldog in stock, so if you want one show up early.
