The new JCW recaros rock. But, you won't be able to buy them in the US because of product liability concerns. Assuming they are like previous JCW seats, they have no airbags. And while you could install them, you'd always have an airbag fault, which couldn't be cleared on the dash. Overseas, there must be a procedure to reset the computer so it knows there are no seat airbags, not sure how this would work though.

Not in the US? Not surprised. Everything I love (automotive) tends to be for European markets only... always has been.

Nice seats!

Hello,

These seats are available here in the US, We offer them, but without the JCW logo.

They are the Recaro Sportster CS seats, prices starting at $1399 per seat
We have silver/black, blue/black or black/black
Brackets also available.

Thanks

Victor

are there any work around for the '06 passsenger seat air bag light? Possibly to install the seat sensor in one of these seats?
Thanks, Steve

Hello Steve,

These seats do not have any airbags, in order to keep the airbag light off on your dash, you will have to install a resistor from radio shack on the harness plug that connects to the seat. thats it.

I believe I am correct in saying that there is a difference on the resistor trick for MINI's that have only side airbags and the ones that have both side airbags and the passenger seat air bag sensor. I believe the change came in the '06 model. To my knowledge I have not seen a resistor trick for the passenger seat sensor as of yet.

Steve,

I am not familiar with the R56 seat, but I would not be surprised if you could remove the weight sensor and reinstall it in the recaro cs seat. Then all you will have left is the harness for the airbag, the one for the resistor.

thanks

Victor
