Finally! This will give other people a chance to buy one! I just wish that it was a private persone and not a deal. :(

1) Talk about a cut & paste job. Can't they have someone write the description?

2) This is a pretty **** move on the dealer's part. They're only trying to make more money on this than is right. See, 'A Call to Arms' for more on this...

I'm sure they will make more money this way rather then selling it at their dealership, since they are able to ship the car to Canada (where no JCW GP's are allocated )

I hate the thought of it, but that is my dealer. MINI of St. Louis is an honest dealership that only charges MSRP. And the last time I checked they had NO pre-orders. So I guess they are trying to move cars.

I only wish those stupid GP's would rot on the lots like the MC-40's did.

But there are probably 400 people out there that will think they are getting something truly special.. . .

Definitely a black mark against the St. Louis dealership.

I noticed that too Gabe!

I'm sure they contacted you beforehand to ask for permission, and I think it was a very sweet gesture on your part to let them use the photos from motoringfile!

I thought I would be able to pay the full price ($32K+?) with PayPal, but it's only the $500 deposit.

How many dealerships mark-up Mini's way over MSRP and still sell?

This is the same thing pretty much.

That's what makes it so funny to me. You can download most of this pics from BMW's press site or MINI.com. Well... except that seat pic. That was an MF special at the time.

Anyway it's no big deal - they're welcome to them. It's just nice to see the name out there

yeah, i guess he could of picked a pic without your logo on it. but, hey, free publicity!

one thing though, i don't get why it's a big deal for this dealer (or any other) to try and sell a car on ebay? we don't know what the reserve is. it could be MSRP for all we know. and if it's not and someone wants to pay it, then so be it. isn't that what's so great about eBay? and, don't we all go to work to make money?

i've certain called BS on some things that this dealer has done in the past but i don't think this is one of them. plus all the BS went away when the sales manager was fired.

If the dealer wanted no more than MSRP for the car, they would probably have a "buy it now" option. . . .

Mmm... 9 bids and it's up to $19,000 with reserve not met yet.

Motoringfile.com is reporting that only 8 have been sold in the 45 car slot for America. Quote: "still seems a bit lower than original expectations".

I think May 15th was the deadline.

More info here: http://motoringfile.com/2006/05/16/l...ery/#more-4861

Quote: I think you read that wrong. It doesnt mean only 8 have sold but rather only 8 are willing to spend $2K to go to CA to pick it up.

Oooops...
