Too much bling, not enough new performance stuff. I am just hoping that they update the JCW tuning kit again... say to 235 hp?

As I posted in the MF comments, the reason I am holding out hope for this is due to the rumors about the new "lightweight" special edition MCS, and that it will apparently come with a JCW-tuned 235 hp engine. I'm hoping that after that, JCW will release a 210hp -> 235hp upgrade retrofit!

That Alcantara steering wheel is hot, I hope they bring it to the US. I bet it'd be pretty pricey though.

yea I agree with the Alcantara wheel. I went to order the chrome line interior retrofit today and I have to get an entirely new tach, to the tune of $280, and that doesn't include the rest of the kit! I agree with Edge in that I will wait and hope that I won't have to do anything aftermarket to my car to get the 235hp that they thought would be in the "CSL" Cooper S.

Can't Wait!

IF, there is a higher output JCW, 235 was mentioned as far back as 2003. Question is, how will they get it? Last time they added an intake. What will they do this time? Ideas?
  1. Bigger IC?
  2. Lighter crank pulley? 2%?
  3. Cam?
  4. Headers?
  5. Software
Randy told me to get more power, go bigger IC and crank pulley, forget about the SW. Headers will add more too.

Will they retrofit. I think so because:
  1. If history serves, MINI retrofits
  2. If the 2007 JCW Turbo comes in at 240 or more, they most likely will want the first gen MINI JCWs to be less HP but close to the next gen since the JCW is their premier car.
Just a thought

Do you believe everything you read? Especially on the Internet never mind the paper? Do you really think some sw change is going to get 25 HP over the JCW sw? Where's the emperical proof? I'm still looking for it.

for me to call it CRAP I would have to see it in person first - feel it, etc.

For now I'll just stick to Tacky...

seriously, those seats look nice but we probably won't get them, and if they did the steering wheel full Alcantara and minus the carbon fiber

Actually like the leather dash (with gray stitching). Think it will look properly "retro" with the anthracite interior and English Leather seats. Very, very British in a 60's Bentley kind of way.

Cheers

BTW That with the leather dash with english leather seats sounds pretty neat, I wish they would put this dash option on MINIUSA so we could all drool!

Ditto that. I'm on the waiting list for the carbon fiber and alcantara emergency brake lever. Screeeeeech. Much improved response for those handbrake turns.
