My '05 JCW vs. a Mercedes SLR

I was driving down a highway in Atlanta last night, when a brand new Mercedes Benz SLR pulls up next to me and looks at my new MCS. I thought I would never see one of these cars. Half a Million dollars and only about 100 will be made for the states, I didn't expect to ever see one on the streets. I wanted to see how fast it was so I dropped down a gear and floored it for about 2 seconds. That car took off so fast, I might as well have been standing still. I could not believe how fast that car was. He must have jumped from 80mph to 140mph in about 5 seconds. I guess it is quite humbling when we think our cars are fast and then we see a really fast car.

Regardless it was a really cool car. Now I just have to see how I can afford a $455,000 car. Hmmmm!

How about instead we attach several mini engines together to be like a tractor puller

Sounds like me racing my friend with a Toyota Matrix. With his mods he is pushing 160hp which seems like alot compared to my lightly moded MC.

I was once filling up my tank at an interstate exit gas station where a Lambo was also filling up. We chatted as we filled up the tank and I asked if he was going the same way on the interstate as I was and if so, would he show me what it can do.

He was happy to humor me and said he'd follow me on the highway until I got to the speed limit. Amazing to see what a super car like that can do. . . .

Bet you had fun watching those tail lights disappera!

Did the SLR play with you or he was just cruising?

I think the MINI vs. the SLR is a little different than the MINI vs. the Matrix

Summer of 1968, I was driving a 260 (?) Mustang at a fairly high rate of speed on an Interstate outside St. Louis. Came up to a 427 Cobra. Slowed down, waved, smiled, tried to make some itelligible gestures to the driver - come on, go for it. He and his wife waved back, kept putting along at the speed limit. So I pulled around in front of him and slowed down. He puttered around me and pulled back into the slow lane. I drove around him and slowed down again. Once more, he puttered around me and pulled back into the slow lane. So I started to drive around him a third time. But as I pulled up next to him, he downshifted a TOOK OFF! Man, I almost sprained my neck just watching that car accelerate away from me.

I have never seen a car move that fast! Yeeow!

Here in Miami I have already seen 2 or 3 new Mercedes Benz SLR's. If you want to see expensive/exotic cars on nearly every corner, Miami is got 'em

Ferraris are becoming "common" cars down here. From time to time I see a 3 to 4 Lamborghini Gallardos flying up and down US1.

I tried that with a BMW 7 Series. I didn't see the 760i V12 badge on the back. Holy crap that car is fast. I got the nod from the owner at when we stopped at the next light.
