I recently purchased an Eventuri Intake for my JCW and have run into a small issue. In the past I installed an MMR intake resonator delete and their silicone intake hose to match up with it. The delete and hose work perfectly with the stock air intake, but when installing the Eventuri, the MMR silicone intake hose is too long to work with the intake. It is about a 1/4" to 1/2" too long and pushes the Eventuri filter housing forward which misaligns everything and doesnt allow for a good or proper seal. To install the Eventuri, have it seat properly and position correctly I need to use the stock plastic intake hose. I'd like to be able to use the silicone hose and wanted to check and see if anyone has run into this before? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!
What's the purpose of the intake? It won't give any significant gains.
My local, uber-expensive "Euro sport cars only" repair / mod shop says the Eventuri absolutely makes a significant difference on BMW's, using basically the same engine.
No reason to assume the Mini would be different.
Just trim the hose to fit and enjoy the intake. I have one, not sure of gains as I’m tuned but do like it. Helps lower my intake temps a bit (I log obd data), I get a functional hood scoop vs fake, and the carbon fiber intake alone costs $500+…so I get that plus a an arguably functional cold air intake.
OP - enjoy the car, add a hardpipe if you want to hear the intake noises even more

I second this suggestion.
I'm not sure myself about the intake, still on the fence, but I did install a Dinan intake pipe (basically a resonator delete, which thankfully is legal) and I love the subtle sonic difference.
"Just enough" of the right sounds, without being annoying. I takes a while to install it, though.
Yeah tight but take the time to remove the “apron” below the windshield. Might take 15 minutes but will save you hours and much frustration…gives a lot more space to work with. A lot of installs and videos show them trying to work with the space ‘as is’. I’ve learned, take the time to remove stuff and open up working space, you will never regret that on the mini
Added the Dinan Hardpipe, removed the apron and job was not bad. Key thing here is track the parts and DO NOT let anything get into the turbo inlet while working. Minimania YouTube guy had a turbo go on him when something (a piece of plastic?) got in. Also have to say - for $119 USD the Dinan Hardpipe is a nice piece of kit for 1/3 the price of forge. Forge looks nice too but the welds on the Dinan are top notch and a high quality product that fits great. Butt Dyno says better throttle and definitely can hear the turbo “whoosh”. I have a tune on the car, and with that pipe being almost 10 years old…plastic gets brittle and breaks so reliability a good reason to update.
