Mini's system isn't as good as others as that can come to a complete stop and resume, it only slows down to 20 then cancels out. Or so that's how it works on mine
Active Cruise (part of Driver Assistance Pkg) on the Clubman and Countryman does bring the vehicle to a complete stop and then resume if the vehicle is equipped with the Automatic transmission. Manual transmission equipped vehicles (and Hardtops/Convertibles) disengage the ACC at 18mph.
That being said, the MINI system is only camera based, so it has limitations (weather, sun glare, etc) that can deactivate the system automatically. This can be annoying to some - especially if you live where there are seasons or commute during dawn/dusk.
Had our JCW clubman for 3 weeks - We are a performance driven family ( have a 707 HP Trackhawk) The JCW is a lot of fun and I think will surprise some folks at NE Dragway this spring - especially if Dinan gets a new tune done
Ordered
my 2020 Clubby JCW in October - Arrived at dealer ....Dealer photos...... will add my own after door handles are replaced (Black ordered - Sliver arrived ) and pick it up......
Nice looking Mini right there! I still want the dark green/red model though. I'm not sure I'm going for any stripes this time though. My hood stripes have seen better days by now. One thing I'm not gonna be interested in is a tune when(ever) I get mine this year. I have a tune on my JCW Coupe and it's plenty. This thing is probably 50+ HP more than mine. I know it weighs more but that's gonna be plenty for me!
We are a performance first family - Got the JCW to be sleeper at the track - -I will actually be putting the car on a dyno in March - If the Mini is like most BMW products (we have a M240I) they underestimate the HP and Torque - and I believe they did based strictly on butt dyno.- We did one short 1/8 run and the little Mini was only about car length behind BMW and the the BMW is a high 11 sec car. We also have a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT with over 500 HP and 480 Torque - runs about 12.5 in the 1/4 -should be some fun times when the snow melts and the track opens - will post timeslips!!
Love the color. Where are you located fjork_duf? If you're in the US, how were you able to get BRG on your JCW? I know it was an option in other markets, but I haven't seen it on the US online configuration tool. If it is available in the states, it would settle the one thing holding me back from ordering one this month.
