Question on '11 JCW Clubman Order
Hi all, looking forward to joining this exclusive club and after much research and planning broke down and ordered a '11 JCW Clubman. Heard from my MA the other day that I was looking at a late June build (my order was written May 7.) Anyone else think that's an unusually long time? Heard about delays with auto and Nav. but this car has neither.
Really didn't want to wait till mid-July for the car as we're getting close to the '12 model year at that point. I'm going to see if they can find another one in the mean time, but as you all know there aren't many JCW's floating around.

Derk, thanks for the intel, makes sense, as they say timing is everything and I may have just missed the boat on that month's slot. Had my MA check and not one single JCW out there in the north east now. Will continue to wait it out and have him look every so often in case something pops up.

eesh! thanks for the head's up guys but not what I wanted to hear. I had my dealer lock me in for 0.9% which I was counting on. If it takes that long don't want to lose that as I know there's an expiration on it.
Here's a funny thing, my MA says there are no JCW's out there in the entire North East. But I know of a couple of dealers that have one in stock (unfortunately not JCW Clubman though) with no deposit on them. Don't know why he can't see those in his system?

Back in '94 I bought an Isuzu Trooper and actually, it was the predecessor of my MINI. I had asked my local dealer to look for a top of the line model, but with a 5-speed. Like JCWs, they were also rare (although probably not to the same degree!). Anyway, the dealer came up empty. I had sort of resigned myself to looking for a used one and called a dealer in Buffalo. That guy said that he didn't have a used one, but he did have a NEW one!?!? When I asked why it didn't show up on the other guy's search he said that the dealership had bought it. There was an incentive that was going to expire, so they bought the truck and got the incentive. The dealers made a swap and I got about $4,000 off of an MSRP of $32,000. Perhaps something similar is what is happening in your situation...
