1-2 Shift Questions

I gotta say, for as long as I've been driving manual, even with being used to "rev hang" on my old car, this car is tricky. I just gotta ask, does anyone else here find it weird to shift from 1-2? Or should I ask....does it get better over time? Can't seem to consistently have smooth shifting.

1st gear seems to runout rather quickly imo, but I don't have an issue with it. My biggest problem is downshifting from 5th to 4th! The stock shifter is just too sloppy for my liking. I don't know how long I can go without adapting a short shifter with a much tighter feel!

1-2 seems to be the only one I can't do smoothly. Weird. Guess I'll just keep crackin!

I only have a little trouble when making this shift smoothly in Sport mode. All others seem to be easier. I only have 300 miles on the car...long way to go.

Same with the auto in manual mode ... it's an awkward shift. I shift to second almost as soon as I'm rolling ... it's a much more usable gear. It's not a drag racer ... 1st is only to get you rolling.

Interesting. What about sport mode causes this?

Might be the tighter throttle response, the shorter gearing of first, and I'm not used to it. I drive around mainly in mid mode. Probably a combo of all three. Just my experiences...

I put the Cravenspeed short shift kit in my F54 and it's nice. 1st is still a little short, but it shifts into all gears very nicely. No slop in any gear.....

Well, all it took was some getting used to. I wasn't used to the clutch engaging off the floor (as opposed to middle of travel like other cars). This car is great. Haha.
