JCW Front license plate mount
Front license plate mount
Hi all. Just took delivery of my 6MT JCW. As I live in VA I have to have a front plate on my car. My MA was kind enough to ask if I wanted the plate mounted in front. I said no as I didn't want holes drilled in. My bumper. I found to tow hook mouthing plates.

I think I like the U.S. Mill works on best. Anyone know anything about either of these or have any other suggestions?

is the jcw number the same dimensions and angles as the MCS f56? Before I drop 80 bucks on this I want to make sure it will fit. All the sites I found selling them seem to say f56 is all. No jcw.
I have the JCW and it fits fine. Just make sure you put in the F56 model and you're good to go.
+1 vote for the Millworks mount.
You have better options on where the plate sits once mounted. If you want it to be offset more to one side or the other, it's very easy to do. I don't believe the Platypus is adjustable, but it is a little easier to install.

Fits perfect on 2015 F56 JCW
Fits perfect -Extender screws right into the front tow hook slot passenger side and the plate holder screws into extender...... very stable, just clears the bumper - no rattle or issues at all -

OK I know I've said the Platypus fits perfectly and it does but since I was waiting for the longer post to arrive I haven't drive my car with it on until yesterday. If you have front parking sensors, because I have Parking Assit, it will block that sensor and think there's an object near by. You can always bypass that by turning Auto PDC off but that defeats the purpose. So if the other one is adjustable that may work.
I may consider that one if a police decides to pull me over lol. My MA told me as long as I don't make myself a target, like getting a speeding ticket or running the light, I more than likely won't get pulled over unless the cop is an *** and has nothing better to do. But until then I'll leave as is

Yeah, like when they try to stealth up on you to catch you speeding (yes Officer, I was speeding but I have eyes and I saw you coming) when they can't they pull you over for "too dark a tint on the front windows", or "missing from number plate". Nice try Officer... Nice try.

Yeah, I haven't had a front plate for 4+ years and no trouble yet, but I do know friends who've gotten dinged for it either as a secondary offense after being pulled over and one friend who got a ticket from a meter maid as a primary offense just parked in Seattle. Lame.
I have the platypus mount, and I also have PDC. I had to order a small extension piece to move the plate holder up and out of the way from the sensors. Otherwise, it will block the sensors, and I use them, so disabling them is not an option for me...
Where did you get your Platypus? I got mine through OutMotoring and wasn't aware that there was an extension piece.
Went with us millworks

I went with the U.S. Millworks unit. I have to say this is built like a brick sh*thouse. Fists well. Very stable. Now I think I want to be one of those guys and get a black frame for the plate. Mine's too dirty.

Nice. Thanks for the info. Do you have the front PDC? If so, I'm assuming it wouldn't block it since it's adjustable?

I do not have the PDC only the backup beepers/cam. I would assume you can get this to work as the plate is drilled with mounting holes all the way across the top. I didnt measure but I would guess you can adjust at around 3/4" increments. I guess you could even mount it upside down to lift the plate up, but it would probably look silly.
