Installed NM Engineering short shifter adapter

Installed the NME short shifter adapter today along with NME shifter cover. I was able to do it without removing the exhaust. It takes a bit of wiggling of the tunnel heat shield...after removing the rear exhaust hangers and the middle tunnel brace below the center section of the exhaust pipe. Once the heat shield came out, the hardest part was removing the stock shifter cover. Installing the NME short shifter adapter itself was very easy, and the new NME cover with deeper tray section was just a snap into place.

All I can say is wow! NME states it's about 20% reduction in shifter travel, but I can attest that it's more like 40% reduction. Excellent mid for more smiles...shifter now feels like my favorite metal on metal click click and such short travels!

Yes, ALL products I've bought from NME have been top quality and top customer support even when I ask silly questions. I highly recommend them. All their products are made in the U.S. if that matters to you.

Everything I have purchased from NM is excellent quality. I also installed the short shifter and really like the results. I agree it feels like way more than 20%

It was PITA to pry off the stock shifter ball for some reason. I had to use a crow bar to pop it off. Putting the NME one on was a piece of cake with a little bit of grease applied. The stock hard plastic cover was also a ***** since I didn't have a good pick tool to get at the side tabs. I ended up just breaking it off since I had the new modified NME cover anyway.

Yea, with a lift and skill it can be done. Its a tight fit around the exhaust tunnel. If you have a split tool or the cable tool for the front , its easy. 83300494345
