2015 F56 JCW Air conditioner not very cold

Hi

My new 2015 F56 JCW with auto climate does not seem to cool air very well.
From the F55/56 Forums there were a few folks with this issue, seemed it was a A/C compressor that needed replacing. Anyone with F56 JCW experiencing this or aware of a wide spread occurrence of this or is it just s few?

I mentioned the same poor cooling symptom earlier on the F56 forum. On Auto the vents blow cool air, but not cold enough to bring the interior temp down close to the Temp setting.

So I took my MCS to the dealer Tuesday for them to have a look. What they did was to push the Max AC button on and turn both temp dials down to 60. Then they measured the incoming air at 48F and pronounced the climate control system "good". (Isn't 39F or 40F more typical of a good system?)

I phoned my service advisor this morning to ask again whether the climate control system needed some kind of repair. No, he said, that's the way these Minis are. We agreed that the "work around" is to override the Auto part of the system.

To me, this seems either like substandard design or a problem with my specific car. Since some others on this forum mention this problem, and some say their system's super cold, I suspect there's a problem with a batch or two of parts that hasn't been resolved. And I think it's possible that sharing our Climate Control stories here could help us pinpoint which cars need fixing. (Mine is a '15 MCS built July '14). Thanks.

Had the same issue with the one I test drove at the dealer. Only blew cold when put on max. Hope it doesn't happen in the '16 I ordered.

Mine works just fine. It might be an intermittent issue.

My A/C is fantastic. Many times better than the 3 R53's and 2 R56's I had. It's about on par with the brilliant A/C in the Mk6 VW GTI and Golf TDI.

My r59's A/C works great, its the heater that sucks. Takes forever to get to warm heat, like about 45 minutes, the it gets so hot that it burns you out.
