We have about 8500 miles on our M6 JCW. The computer tells us that we are getting right at 23mpg consistently. This is about half highway and half city driving. My wife drives the car 95% of the time, so trust me, the car never sees anything over 4k rpm's

We certainly did not buy the car for fuel efficiency, but I want to ensure nothing is wrong since we are a good deal off from the EPA sticker readings(and I do understand that EPA estimates are not necessarily real world either)

We use 93 octane fuel only.

Wondering what other JCW owners are seeing?

Jefff, can't help you with the JCW CM, but my wife's '11 CMS gets 28 on the highway and 24 overall. Your mileage sounds about right to me.

 

I average 26 to 27 with manual JCW. I always push her on starts etc. the computer says I am getting 28 to 30 so 26 to27 is calc at the pump. Drive to work is 15 miles each way 4 lane with lights avg speed is 66.

 

after 8000 km, computer tells me 8.8 L/100 km (which translates to about 27 MPG). Pedal to the floor most of the time

 

I drive my JCWCM in a hilly area and I have been getting consistently between 24.1 and 25.1 according to Mini's computer using only 93 octane. It seems that since I switched from 19 inch summer wheels to winter 17s, the MPG is closer to 25 mpg. I have not yet verified the computers accuracy by calculating MPG by tracking the gallons pumped divided into miles driven--I read some computers are slightly off.

I am planning a cross county ride from the east coast to Phoenix and then San Diego and I hope to see a much higher MPG for all highway driving.

 

Drove from Virginia to Phoenix and back for the holidays.

My MPG ranged from a high 29.7 in Texas to a low of 24.1 both in Texas.


I used 93 Octane until I could not find it anywhere in western Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. The highest I could find was 91 Octane.


Of course, the more mountainous, into a headwind, the lower the MPG.


Also, I had plenty of time driving to check my speedometer accuracy in between the interstate mile markers. My Mini speedometer is off by 1.25 MPH checked at various speed. I simply, set the cruise and timed with my phones stop watch function the time between mile makers. A state trooper told me that most cars are off by 1 or 2 mph and this was a quick way to check your speedometer. In others words, your actual speed will almost always be less than the speedometer.

I would not rely on the OBC mpg ... my 2012 all4 usually shows 24-25 mpg but using miles driven and gallons pumped I average 28-29 mpg overall

highest ever was 41.9 mpg calculated while the OBC showed just over 35 mpg (I don't remember the exact figure and don't record the OBC numbers)

lowest ever was 11.8 mpg while OBC said about 8 mpg

 

First long trip in my '14 JCW Paceman between Chicago & St. Louis. I tracked mpg at each fill-up manually and with the MINI trip computer (need to start actually logging them...). The best mpg of the trip (99% highway miles) was 28 mpg calculated and 32 mpg on the trip computer. Not sure why such a big difference. Still, I'm pleased with the results. My previous car was an '02 Subaru WRX wagon which routinely got 26 mpg on the highway, so I'm happy with the improvement in mileage.
