Yeah, it seems to take time to come up

Mine is at 6700 km and it just started to become louder in the last 500 km or so

THANKS MyroMini for the response !!!! I went through as many threads as i could and seems that it takes a little while .but thought after 4500km my JCW would be broken in and making noise ..haha guess i should go find some twisty's in sport mode and put some more ams on .Cheers

It might be a Canadian thing. My 2013 JCW popped and gurgled out of the box.

I hope not. My JCW should arrive in a few weeks and I hope there is lots of pops are burbles. I am coming from an 04 VW R32, and I will sure miss the exhaust.

My former MA once told me that the exhaust needed around 5k miles to fully awaken. I guess I'll have to continue waiting and see.

I'll consider it in 5k miles if there is no change in the tone.

My 2011 S did a great job of popping, etc.

My 2010 JCW... not a peep. I know it's kind of juvenile, but I miss that sound in my 2010. Yes I know the JCW is faster, better in almost every way, but the sound is missing.

It's been inconsistent but I've noticed recently that I will get some good audible pops when I downshift from say 4th to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd gear. Total mileage is just above 2,500. I hope it gets more common as it adds up.

My '13 is almost at 4K miles....still FAR quieter than my '05 MCSC! I did recently have one instance where I was staying in a low gear (engine braking) in 2nd and it had the most amazing pops, gurgles and even a few near back-fires....but just that once!

Is removing the resonator really the answer?

My 13 MCS pops and back fires quite a bit. Enough so that I've scared a few old people and kids when it backfires.

I'm at 14k miles, it didn't get loud till I hit about 7k miles.

I'm now at 4300 miles and I've only heard something like that happen like 2-3 times, and it's annoying that it's difficult to reproduce. lol I've been trying to refrain from engine braking cuz' I've felt like it's almost like a bad habit and I tend to overdo it on my past cars. lol
