Brake pad options?

Aside from factory pads is there anything out there that can offer less brake dust and improved bite?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Next question are all mini brake pads the same? I have a set of ferodo pads from my 07 r56.

I am only assuming this because on way's site it says all minis

**** edit ****
07 mcs pads do not fit unless equipped with the non brembo JCW brake kit.
34 11 6 778 320 jcw non brembo which fits jcw r60 2013 prod date 3/13

Just to update everyone..

I ended up doing some research and found that my 2013 jcw shares the same brake pads as a 2012 MCS.

So I ended up using akebono Euro pads, part number eur1204 $65.00.

It's been 3 days, no dust!
Initial bite its not as grabby as oem pads but has a better follow through. Oe pads felt like it bites hard at first then begins to fade. These bite and progressively begins to bite more.

I am a happy camper now...

The rears would be the same but the fronts are different. The pad shape is quite different.

Really?

I ordered and installed a set yesterday afternoon.

The rears I have not looked into it yet because my local supplier does not have the matching akebono pads yet.

The MCS must have the JCW TRW non brembo upgraded brakes. There are three available brake pads.

My 07 MCS w/n14 the pads were shaped differently non brembo/non JCW.

Yea, the JCW 4 piston brakes in the front look like this.

This is the caliper 4 piston JCW Brembo - Front Left

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/34106856651/

Fits These:

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/34116789157/ES253346/

Or

EBC Reds

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/DP31854C/

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The single piston JCW brakes (TRW) for the Gen 2 MINI share the same front pads as Cooper S. Not too many people have the Single piston JCW brakes on there Gen 2 MINI. Same caliper as the R56 Cooper S , just painted Red and JCW logo.

And here is the Akebono set front an rear.

Hope that helps with the pictures.

Just to clarify, the front brake pads of a mini Countryman S ALL4, is the same as the ones in the mini cooper S R56? Are they exchangeable?

EBC reds/yellows front brake pads for R56S would fit CTMS ALL4?? is this true?

Not exactly
R56 has 3 brake options

Stock cooper S r56 pads will not fit the r60

Cooper S or jcw with TRW calipers which is an upgrade option for the r56S but stock on JCW, That fits the R60

Cooper S r56 or jcw with brembo 4piston upgrade will not fit the R60.

Only the "trw" brand calipers share the same brake pad.

I had them, they are very close to the OEM pad in performance, maybe a little less dust. Justa lower cost option for a stock replacement.

You're so cheap bro! Joking. I appreciate the info.

I'm going with EBC Redstuff's to get a break on the dust accumulation. I know EBC sells rotors but they are way pricey. I assume the EBCs are compatible with any rotor yes? I usually match pad and rotor by brand since I know those combos are proven.

Sorry for the dead post resurrection but I'm looking for Akebono Euro's to fit my '13 Paceman JCW (with TRW front brakes) and the links provided here show they don't fit when checking on the ECS website. If anyone can confirm what part number fits both front and backs I'd greatly appreciate it. This post is the closest thing I've found online that even goes into detail on the brake combo for the paceman JCW.

Hello,

They take the same pad here: Front Euro1204 , rears Euro1554

https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2013-.../Braking/Pads/

Ones above are talking about the 4 pot vs the single pot JCW which is also similar to the TRW gen 2 Cooper S.

Ya after re-reading your post and looking on the ECS site I realized I was filling out the vehicle profile as my own (JCW Paceman) when I should have been verifying that they fit a 2013 Cooper S (R56). The website just doesn't list them as fitting a JCW Paceman. Sadly the Paceman/Countryman didn't get the 4 pot Brembo's. Mine are TRW's painted red and the standard R56 rears also painted red. Thanks again for the help!

What do you guys think of the redstuff after having them a while? Any brake noise, less dust and improved performance/initial bite?

Had redstuff and hawk HPs, I liked them both. Great bite. If you get the more aggressive pads they will make more noise as you work up the ladder. Dust on both was far less them OEM pads.
