Since the thread has already been resurrected, i'll tag along with my question.

I own a 2012 R56 Mini Cooper S.

I need new front brakes and after reading this thread, I understood that there's a possibility I have TRW calipers. How can I be sure? If they're not TRW, what are they?

How can I know what was the original brake pads and discs this car had when it left the factory?

Also, which discs and pads should I go for? Brembo? TRW? Anything else?

The car is mostly a daily driver, with some road trips and a track day once or twice a year, so I don't think I need a super-duper brake set.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

First of all, thanks!

Second, how did you find this thread? God only knows how much I searched.

Third, it doesn't really give me all the answers, in the end they just say the calipers "may" be TRW. Or did I mis-read?

Just did a simple search within the JCW forum for 'brake'.

There was another thread where the OP indicated that his 2014 JCW had "TRW" brake calipers from the factory.

No, your bad is that you're trying to make me look like a *******, even though this thread seems to be discussing the differences between an S and a JCW.

If that's how you get your kicks, please continue. I won't mind.

Nevertheless, I still appreciate the help you provided, even if it came with a grain of salt.
