TRADE: R56 Brembos to R53 JCW

Not sure I can post this here. If not then feel free to delete mods .

I am looking to trade my current R56 JCW Brembo brakes ( calipers, pads, and rotors) for a set of R53 JCW brakes ( calipers, pads, and rotors). I would like to find someone close but I can handle a little down time on my car.

These have about 10,000 miles on them but have 75% on the pads and perfect rotors.

I will need 300.00 plus your brakes.

And just confirming you realize that...

save for some red paint and decals, you can also swap for any standard R55/6/7 "S" model front brakes and get the same underlying calipers, rotors and pads as the JCW R53 set up? You may find those S ones sold at times too by others who have done the upgrade to gen 2 JCW. Have also seen the JCW older calipers at times on ebay uk; can source the heavier rotors here domestically easily.

Good luck!

Thus, do suggest looking in uk too.

on ebay. ebay.co.uk I saw the older (16" wheel sized ones) ones a couple of times the past few months. (I was looking for the newer ones, and ultimately also bought them out of the UK). Look for sellers who will ship to US, and figure that may be another $50ish for just calipers.

What's the limit on those brakes? 17"? 16"? And why run smaller wheels? (I know of a number of reasons, I'm just curious as to what your reasons are.)

They only run on some, but not all, factory 17's, and don't run on 16's at all. The JCW brake install instructions list the 17" wheels specifically.

Thanks for the attention and input gang. I have worked out a deal for a set of 2nd gen R56 brakes. Same as the 1st gen JCWs as you know.
