Thanks! That one had me Googling CPI for about a half an hour, there was a site that had over a page of definitions for CPI acronyms, I couldn't find one that related to catalytic converters.

The Concrete Pipe Institute has a nice website and it at least has something to do with pipes.

I can now accelerate (yes in a diesel!!) out of corners earlier.

So is there different stages of turning it off? ie pressing the button then holding it down (I hold it down).

Cheers for info.

for the r56?
i got it from www.outmotoring.com/

MINI Cooper R55, R56, R57, Traction Control Memory- AutoSport plus FES Auto Module

thanks for the comments. ill post this on the thread for others to read
ok. there are basically three stages.
1. default. no lights on. (dash warning lights)(dtc ON DSC ON) dtc = dynamic traction control. dsc = dynamic stability control. basically, the car will cut power very quickly if it detects some abnormal movements. i found this to be dangerous.

2. press for 1 0r 2 seconds. DTC is now OFF. . BETTER TRACTION. less interference from the bmw nanny. alot safer and easier to judge. MY default setting now. alot better control. traction is improved. lets you wheel spin more with out braking and cutting the power to certain wheels. its similar to the above, just more like 30% less interference.

3. press and hold the DTC button for about 5 seconds until you see a yellow triangle appear on the rev counter. DTC is now OFF. DSC is now OFF. EDLC is now engaged.(Electronic Differential Lock Control). allows i beleive like 50% more power down before the ecu kicks in. yet safe to use. you can control the power and play with the throttle. ediff allows power to the wheel that needs more traction.

3.4 Nm shortshift adapter

3.4 Nm shortshift adapter

So the zorst was off the car….
I Just undone the heat shield bolts.

Access to the shifter was easy. Popped it on.

Whats it like to Drive?: a bit hard and knotchy at first. Shifting had decreased quite noticeably. Felt good as the days went by and the hardness went away. The shifting is a lot more slicker now. Slightly harder than stock but I like the weightiness of it.
This car is really developing into a race car. Zoooooooooooom!!!!!!!!

3.5 NM Polyutherane Lower engine mount insert bush.

3.5 NM Polyutherane Lower engine mount insert bush.
One of the best mods ive done so far.
So over looked by everyone.

This poly insert goes on the stock lower engine mount bush. It simply inserts in snugly.

Can’t believe how easy it was. I’m still laughing. I thought that I had to take the undertray off. Bit of a pain without a ramp.

I tested the rock and play of the lower engine mount bush. And it was quite noticeable. The rocking effect.

Anyway. Jacked up the car. Got a socket on the bolts and it came off easy. I cleaned up the oem part and stuck this insert on the oem bush. Went on with a little push. Really tightened up the play. The rocking of the engine had been greatly reduced. Will it be good on the road. What about the vibrations???

When I first went for a drive. I noticed extra wheel spin. This was down to less play in the engine movement. And better acceleration.
After a few days. The mount had bedded in. no wheel spin noticed. And the acceleration was smoother and noticeable. I have had to look twice now (every1 with the sport button will know what I mean) at the sport button, if it was on. And to by surprise. Off! Wow! And now I drive most of the time with it off.
Best way is to pretend that u don’t have it on. And when you do your normal habitual turns and acceleration, braking etc…. bam! You’ll notice it pretty soon.

The saving it’s going to make will pay me back within a month I reckon. The extra power. Sorry. The recovered power from the engine, suspension, gearbox and driveshaft movement has been most welcomed. It makes me wonder why mini don’t install from factory. Maybe they’ll say rough ride or noise issues. I haven’t noticed anything. Don’t think there is frankly speaking.
Such a quick, easy and money saving mod.
Nm used to do this from u.s.a. I hear now that powerflex have released one too, right here in the U.K. guess what? Half the price of the nm insert I believe.

11/10 <IS THAT POSSIBLE???

dont be "hoping" just have a look under the car. the mount is located at the bottom rear of the engine.
its either a triangular shape or a circular shape.

powerflex have started doing these bushes aswell. and they are cheaper than the nm ones.

Part 3.6. M7 carbon fibre rear diffuser

Part 3.6. M7 carbon fibre rear diffuser

Well. This carbon fibre diffuser is damn sexy. As you can see> masked off ready to install

]Before I continue. Just want to add a little insight into this.from an article>
Is the rear diffuser functional?
Yes. The rear diffuser incorporates a venturi tunnel to create a venturi effect. The venturi effect is a phenomenon which is described by Bernoulli's equation. When a fluid, such as air, is flowing through a pipe, and is forced through a narrower section of pipe, the pressure decreases while the velocity increases. This is similar to the Bernoulli effect for enclosed conduits which states that the higher the velocity of a fluid, the lower the pressure.* Thus, as the air moves faster underneath the car and through the rear diffuser, it causes the high pressure air to push down on the car in order to reach the lower pressure air. This creates downforce which exerts a downward pressure on a moving vehicle and helps to counteract loss of control at high speeds.* The faster the vehicle is moving, the more downforce is created.* Below is an example of how underbody aerodynamics, such as a rear diffuser, can create pressure differences (slr pictured below)

I decided to install this to give the car a more aggressive look from behind, as well as hopefully creating more downforce towards the rear of the car.

The install was a bloody red nose.
Stripped the bumper only to find out the m7 had gave two identical left brackets!. So had to wait a week for them to sort this mess out. Whilst they were at it. Told them to send me some more bolts as the O.E ones were too small and they didn’t give enough of the bigger ones.

Quite disappointed with m7. regarding the mounting and install instructions. The holes and mounting are quite a bit off. Don’t know what they are thinking. With a bit of effort and measurements, they could have made the install more of a plug and play. Instead. Tediously, you got to make your own holes. Trial and error times by ten!!!
A real pain to install. And dont mention cutting the original rear diffuser to go around the m7 diffuser! Wow! That took tiiiime!!! But I think I did a good job>

the carbon fibre is very very stong. Couldn’t belive how tough this material really is. No wonder they charge such high rates for these parts

Aside from the centre support splitter which hadn’t been painted yet.
when It was finally on the car. Hmmmm nom nom nom……….
Rest of the pics>>>
