JCW Strut Brace....
JCW Strut Brace....
Does anyone know what the torque is for the single fasteners at either end of the cross brace?
Also, if I remove the cross brace (leaving the tower attachements in place), will I have any trouble reinstalling the brace?
(All this is for replacing the expansion tank.)
Thanks much!
Oops. Forgot to mention it's an 06 cabriolet with every possible JCW option.

Although I am **** with torques, that bolt should be tight but not overtightened. It is not critical enough to torque it IMO.

Everything? I check my plugs with a torque wrench each time I change the oil at 5000 mile intervals. 20 lbs cold. Over night cold.
I also always torque wheel lugs and most other fasteners. But not the brace single bolt. The plate bolts, OTOH.....

I'd probable torque everything to spec if I had a torque wrench. I've motor swapped hondas, and a cam and tranny swap on my truck, never used a torque wrench...

Hi guys, I'm about to remove my JCW strut brace (that was already installed on my car when I bought it) to install an Alta CAI. I've seen around the forums that there are varying opinions on torque settings- what is the correct setting for the JCW front strut brace? It is on a 2005 R53 MCS (non JCW). Cheers.
Bentley manual is great for torque specifications.
You can usually find torque wrenchs at a pawn shop for a reasonable price.
All you need is a 3/8" drive, 0 - 200 ft lbs.
If you are are going to do alot of wrenching, get a 1/4" in lb. also.
