Carbon Fiber Hood Scoop Question

The orginal hood scoop on my 07 S got wavy because of the heat from the turbo so I replaced with a chrome one which now has the chrome starting to lift. Before I spend the money for a Carbon Fiber Hood Scoop does anyone have any idea how it holds up to the heat from the turbo? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Tony

I am in the same boat, talked to my mechanic who is an expert on minis. He suggested that I install an after market heat shield. Still weighing my option but I may go that route before replacing the hood scoop.

Same boat here too. It just seems insane to let MINI install a new plastic scoop under warranty when it is just going to do the same thing. This problem has been going on since they came out with the turbos in place of the supercharger.

I don't have any experience with the carbon fiber but I doubt it will warp. I am considering installing one.

Anybody out there with some time on a carbon fiber scoop on a second gen MINI?

Replied to the OP on his other thread as well. I have the JCW cf hood scoop on my car for over a year. No issues.

I have the CF scoop on my 2nd gen. Its only been a few months. NO warping. I've noticed that after driving awhile the bonnet gets really heat soaked but the CF is no where as hot as the metal (to the touch).

I saw my scoop starting to waver from the heat a bit so Santa brought me an M7 Turbo Heatshield. That did the trick.
