JCW exhaust

Is there a part number for just the exhaust?

I'm wondering what the price is is there is a separate PN for it.

Morristown mini

Have you tried Morristown Mini? If not, I believe their price is the lowest

I'd like to get a part number first.

Classic is local for me, and i'm willing to bet they would price match if they were lower.

RealOEM.com is your friend...

R53 Cooper S JOHN COOPER WORKS TUNINGKIT 210 HP

Doesn't appear to be just ONE part number for the exhaust, but you could order the various parts for it and assemble it...

18111170941 GASKET
18100301876 CENTER SILENCER
18100303296 CLAMPING BUSH
18100395483 SPORTS REAR SILENCER
82120303295 EXHAUST PIPE EXTENSION CHROME

The "874" number that Edge posted I believe has been replaced by the "875" as shown in the link.

I'm not sure if you can still get the "pre-R52" rear silencer(like mine) without the crushed pipe.

Like I said in my PM, check the number at your dealer...if you have any problems, just let me know.

I think I really just need the rear section and tips, I'll make my own resonator pipe.

Lemme email Classic and see what they can do for me.

Thanks again guys!

Actually no, if you read it properly, it seems that the 875 was replaced by 874. That's why I posted 874... although there is yet another number, that might be the latest one: 18100395483.

On second thoughts though, I think that's the one. I'll edit my earlier post for posterity.

LOL, never mind, I just saw on Classic's accessory site they want $750 some odd bucks for the full exhaust.

Actually, in the original link you posted it shows the "874" ENDED... with the "875" number appearing to be good. The link now also shows the "483" ENDED.
While realoem is great to have, it's not 100%. I'll check the numbers when I go back to work on Tuesday.

But 875 shows "Up to 01/2004" and 483 "From 01/2004" ...

That still doesn't really explain how a part listed as "up to 01/2004" would be the current part... ?

For cars built from 2002 until January 2004. and From 01/2004 is for cars built from January 2004-on.

They still have to have a supply of these parts.

Manufacturers have to supply stock parts for 10 years. Accessory parts they can kill at any time even strictly dealer installed stuff like the JCW "kits".

Just make a full exhaust. it will be cheaper and probably flow better than the JCW.

This is correct...the 875 is still a good number, and would be the one to order for production dates up to 01/2004...none in the country, 13 in Germany...

...the 483 has been replaced by 18 20 7 545 128 for production dates after 01/2004...5 in the NJ PDC.

Ok, sorry to ressurect, but I'm still a bit confused, between 875, 874, and 483, now 128??

Which, JCW exhausts DO NOT have the "Convertible Kink" (Crushed Pipe)??

Partsman, I was under the impression that the only difference were the hanger locations for the rear silencers....can't this system be fabricated with hangers to fit a 03 MCS?

I have the "875" part number on my car, and it does not have the convertible kink in the pipe.
I would have to guess that the part number for after 01/2004 will have the kink, because we've had R53 factory JCWs in the shop with the kink in the pipe.

Hey Dave...I received your email, but i'll just reply here.
The early JCW rear silencer(before the convertible arrived) did not have a kink(flat section) at the "Y". The convertible has additional under body bracing that required MINI to basically flatten or kink the pipe right where it splits to the mufflers.
As far as the hangers are concerned, depending on which '04 JCW exhaust you are looking at...you may or may not have to do anything to it. If it's the later '04 exhaust, I think you will just need to bend the inner hanger to face the other way.

Hope that helps...if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks Joaquin.

I get the sense from the posts that this kink is not desirable and somewhat diminishes the flow of exhaust to the silencers.

Thanks for the help!

(Geoff will be working some of his magic on the MINI, see you soon)
