I get the sense from the posts that this kink is not desirable and somewhat diminishes the flow of exhaust to the silencers.

Thanks for the help!

(Geoff will be working some of his magic on the MINI, see you soon)
You're welcome.

I'm not sure if the kink diminishes the flow at all...and if it did, you probably wouldn't even notice it.

Geoff is great, and i'm sure he will take care of you and your MINI.

I fit a later JCW exhaust to Artoo (2003 MCS) today and the inner rear hangers faced the wrong direction. Bending didn't seem to be an option but Honda part 18215-SMG-E11 is a rubber hanger that has the holes perpendicular to each other and works perfectly. If the parts guys in the Honda dealer weren't such idiots it would have been painless for me. At first they didn't want to sell it to me without a Honda or Acura VIN. But they eventually did at full list which was annoying but, again, it work perfectly so it was worth the $14 each they charged me for the $7 bushings.

Just ordered the JCW exhaust and tips for a R53 '05 MCS from a local dealership. There are only 17 left in the US as of today. The part numbers on the invoice reads,

Exhaust Tips Chrome: 18-10-1-489-603
JCW Sport Rear Silencer (just the muffler): 18-20-7-545-128 EDIT: Sorry, this is NOT the part number.

In my system that part number shows up as the regular R53 rear muffler, not the JCW... hrmm.

Hey man, my bad. MINI of Monrovia quoted me the wrong part number. They actually ordered it and these were for the regular R53 exhaust tips. They are reordering the JCW tips for me.

I will post the correct part number once I get the boxes. Again, sorry for the confusion.
