I read that this morning.

Strange.

"I'm sorry, officer. My braking performance was not what I was promised."

So it looks like the solution is an inspection. If they show too much wear, then they are replaced. Or is it the pads?

There's another thread on it. Affects cars produced up to August 1. They got the wrong size rotors.

Well, shame on BMW/MINI for not saying something first. Second, this sounds like BULLSH*T

WASHINGTON — BMW is recalling 560 of its 2009 John Cooper Works and John Cooper Works Clubman vehicles equipped with 16-inch-diameter front brake discs because under "conditions of intense brake usage, braking performance would be reduced."

I should be

if you go to the other thread linked above there are good pics of what is wrong. The discs are undersized for the calipers so they won't have nearly as much braking force as they should. In any case our tax dollars are there protecting us from dumb **** like this.

Wrong...not one penny of tax dollars go to government. It all goes to pay the interest on the loans ( backed by treasury bonds ) the government borrows from the federal reserve, to pay for this stuff and everything else. Including bail outs, war and cavity searches at airports...

So, check your JCW brakes and if you got what you paid for "forget about it"

I havn't heard of any rip off's...have you?
