What did you pay for your JCW aero kit?

Guys,

I just loitered around my local BMW dealer researching the JCW Aero Kits.

The MINI online configurator has it as a $1500 kit.

The dealer wants 2500 installed. This is kinda high isn't it?

I thought no tools were needed for this kit install. Front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper and roof spoiler.

and I missing something? What did you pay for your JCW Aero Kit?

I really wanted the JCW Aero Kit, but my dealer quoted me $2,500 as well. I had to pass. Maybe later.

Well I assumed so since it was installed painted on the floor model.

The thing is that I thought the Aero Kits come from the factory prepainted for 1500.

Im looking to see what is a fair price for the aero kit when ordering a new MINI.

I'm guessing the configurator price is the kit installed at the factory or PDC, before the dealer sees the car. The removed parts would not be returned to you.

On the other hand the $2500 quote I think entails the kit coming off the dealers shelf, painted locally and installed at the dealer with the replaced parts returned to you.

$2500 is the MSRP (parts, paint, and labor) to install it at the VDC. I wouldn't pay more $2200 for it. I've been able to negotiate it down to $1800.

JCW AERO KIT

I Paid $1300.00 for the kit unpainted from princeton mini with 10% off from my mini club and had a friend paint and replace for $400.00 , $1700.00 total but the kit does not come with a new spoiler,i know that morristown mini in NJ runs different specials all the time if you call around I'm sure you can get a better deal good luck

The dealer does the whole JCW kit installation which is why they charge more. I paid $2k more for the JCW aero (this was a lot car and not ordered online) but I did not get the original bumpers, side skirts, etc. I never really asked because I don't need them.

Just ordered it today for my inbound JCW (about 40 days out from delivery). Mine is going to cost about $1900 installed (pre-painted Midnight Black). I'm also going to install the plastic JCW Challenge racer's splitter in place of the plastic chin spoiler. I don't have a price on it yet as I'll order it from my local MINI tuner/race works shop, not the dealer. It's just a different shape plastic part from MINI so I hope they don't rape me. But it's so cool!!!

Morristown Mini recently started selling pre-painted kits for $1600. I have not personally installed one, but based on the threads, it seems like an easy job.

Just an FYI, I contacted them yesterday during my planning for my '09 MC and was informed that BRG currently was not available pre-painted... so it looks like not all the paints are available. Other than that looks like a great deal

Many threads on this....while my JCW was on its way over, I was quoted $1850 for a pre-painted kit from Morristown shipped to Houston. Dealer agreed to $2200 for port-installed, I thought what basically amounted to $350 for installation was reasonable. I didn't get the old parts that way but didn't really want to store them anyway for an unsure destiny.
