JCW suspension problems

I am hearing a noise when I turn the steering wheel while the car is NOT moving. The wheel does not need to turn to lock position, just turn the wheel 1 to 1.5 rotations and there is a noise that sounds like a bushing is not sitting right and metal might be touching/rubbing somewhere under the nose of the car (hard to put the sound into words).

I did not have the dealer install the JCW set up; However, I took the car to them because the car is still under warranty and maintenance (one of the reasons I purchased the JCW suspension). The dealership (stealership) says they don't know what it is, but since they did not install the suspension they can't diagnose it unless I am willing to pay them what ever the labor is to diagnose it.... The best part is my service advisor said it could be 10 minutes or 3 hours to find the noise.... It is just one of those things... Don't they have to prove that the problem stems from the suspension before they tell me that they can't fix it due to JCW install?
Any advise or sugestions as to what it may be????? BTW, I had the JCW suspension upgrade installed last week maybe 500 miles on it and the noise is not getting worse but not going away.
Thanks,
Michael S.

hmmm seems like a sticky situation....I hate the dealerships

I would say....bring it to the guy who installed it for you originally and have him check it out. It should be his responsibility to fix if problem stems from his install. keep us updated

sounds as if MAYBE you might have a missing washer possibly on your strut mount. have someone put their hand on the upper strut mounts while your turning the wheel, see if they can feel anything from either side.

the dealership will only charge you the diag time if the problem has stemed from the JCW suspension upgrade you did. On your end agree to pay the diag time. If it turns out to be something else, great free checkout. If it turns out to be the JCW upgrade then you should pay

Michael I have the same susp. sound like the spring if off set of the strut detent, or the upper nut was not properly torqued, good lock.

Issue was resolved. The dealer said I needed a new steering rack and I got the car back and all sound and feels good, don't know exactly what it was, but it is back to normal. Thanks to all for the advise and suggestions.
