Any Auto Trans Drivers Interested in JCW Kit

from Motoringfile---

Gabe Oct 30th, 2007 Link
Any word of when the jcw kit for the auto will be ready ?

Well judging by the fact that I’ve sat in one already at an “undisclosed location”, it has to be fairly close

I'm ready

I'm interested, looking around for new updates...
I know ALTA has a new ECU update but not for the Autobox either...

VERY interesting. Doubtful that I'll get it, but excited to see how much gains all the same.

It is coming soon.

I'm more interested in the Alta upgrades versus the JCW upgrades. From what I've read, you'll get more bang for your buck with the Alta parts.

+1 to that! Although I can't help being curious if the JCW stage I for automatics will be any different from the tuning kit for manuals. If the ECU reflash does in fact improve steering response as well (something I haven't heard any aftermarket company so much as touch on) that'd be pretty cool.

not sure what the steering response story is. Supposedly depends which software /build date you have. I asked my dlr to re-flash the car but they said they can not unless a light is on.

comments from a completed install on auto trans MCS in England..sounds good..

All done. Makes a real difference - installed at 20,000 miles so the engine was nice and loose anyway. immediate impression is that there is now more power available, it pulls particularly well from 2k revs at lower speeds and at, er, track day speeds, it is now immediately more responsive. Basically between the gears on the automatic there is less tendency to change down and where it used to hold on to a gear almost to the red line it now changes earlier. they have clearly remapped the gearbox as the install takes longer. about 1mpg difference although that's more about being heavier footed because it is so much fun. cornering is also enhanced as you can get the power down quicker and tighten the line.
and those big tubes at the back? pure filth and the size balances the JCW roof spoiler. exhaust note is just a rumble the whole time.

The word needs to filter down to the dealer level.....South Bay is still unwilling/unable to install it

do not think its been introduced yet in US. Based on the time line from overseas intro for stick shift JCW kits followed shortly by availability here, its likely to be announced as available here fairly soon.

Must have JCW auto tuning kit now

I picked up my car yesterday and am ready to install one as soon as they are available. The horsepower will be welcome but also a little bit of audible character would be nice to. I am happy the kit is not loud because nothing sounds worse in my opinion than a loud exhaust on an auto car.

Can anyone else confirm UK availability

Originally when I read this thread I was under the impression the kit was out in the UK. I then read back over it and see it is really just one guy that says he has it on the car. Can anyone confirm if the kit has been officially released anywhere and when it will be available in the U.S. I have looked everywhere and no one seems to have an official word on the subject.

Just registering my interest. I will eventually do something for my MCSa, and it's good to know JCW will be an option.

Regarding ...

big tubes must mean te big diameter exhaust pipes balancing the visual impact of the JCW roof spoiler. Pure filth must mean---way cool.
