Cooper S to Cooper Conversion

Well I was not a fan of the chrome against the Dark Silver, I don't like the center exit exit exhuast and I prefer the 02 to 04 cooper bumpers becuse the give the car a more nostalgic look. So I removed as a few chrome pieces i thought needed to go, added some black and WHA LA a Dark Silver Cooper with a black roof.

So here are some before and after photos:

front end before:

Front end after:

Front end before:

Front end after:

rear end before:

rear end after:

So there you have it. My ultimate cooper "S". Stealthy, quiet and fast. All this would not be Possible with out the help of my painter Brian Rupp, Helix Minisports, CarX in kettering for the exhuast welding and the great people of NAM who sold there used parts on the cheap to me .

See you on the road.....Happy Motoring

I love it. It looks like you have the MC spoiler too.

I'm tempted to make you an honorary member of Team Justacooper.

Now you have to do some kind of mod for the mailbox slot in the hood. Looking very good.

I forgot to mention. The "S" badge has also been removed.

Now I need a resonably priced set of factory 17's (with runflats) to complete my look

Why 17s? The Coopers either came with 15s (standard) or 16s (optional) from the factory... Ses came with 16s (standard) or 17s (optional).

Seems to me that putting factory 17s on the car will only bring back some of its "Sness".

Those wheels & tires are 16's, but they are standard on an S. For a more stealth look find you a set of the 16" five spokes.

Now you need a Cooper gas door and a set of the flat rockers panels. And some Cooper door sill strips to go with them.

What's next, removing the supercharger? Just kidding.

I like the stealth concept very much. My version is to let the car get filthy.

Seems like Doug's first sentence answers that:

Well I was not a fan of the chrome against the Dark Silver, I don't like the center exit exit exhuast and I prefer the 02 to 04 cooper bumpers becuse the give the car a more nostalgic look
Also, I think it's one of the first rules of modding - stock is bad. In the US, we replace our arches with the Euro ones without lights. Over there, they replace their arches with the US ones with the lights.

Yes, there's modding...then again, there's going in drag (and I'm not talking racing).

just think of my Cooper S as a lesson in "OEM minus" modding. Thanks for all your comments . See you ate the Dragon or points elsewhere.

All of the sporty goodness & more is still in Doug's car. He's made himself a Q ship. Stealth is cool.

Wow, I've never heard of someone doing this before. Seriously, if you could get rid of that slot in the nose, it's be perfect!
