Speedo removal - help

I have a 2003 MCS. I am trying to hook up a wire for the OBC and am stuck at the speedo trim removal. I have the three torx's removed and the panel won't come off. Do I have to remove the top dash panel to get the speedo piece out? In posts about changing the gauge faces people make comments about unplugging the speedo can cause problems. Has anyone had an issue after adding the OBC?
Second question is for the power tap which wire on the bottom of the lighter is the power? I really need to get a shop manual but have only had the car 6 weeks. I might have a line on a power tap but was wondering about taping in to the bottom of the lighter.
I have searched and the "onboard_computer.pdf" instructions just say pull the panel off.

These have descriptions of speedo removal:

For the lighter, + is red/black/yellow wire, - is brown wire.

For the speedo removal, grab the bottom right of the panel and pull hard, it'll come off. From there do the same on the bottom left. Then just give it a tug on the top and its off. Use discretion but at first it'll feel like your pulling way to hard. Can't help you on the rest though.

Thanks
I just undid the passenger side of the dash and that gave me enough room to pull the speedo cover. Dang the dash is hard to put back on afterwards.

On the power side I managed to find a proper add-a-circuit so I won't have to tap into other wires.
