OK - I just opened one up and measured it. Problem is that the way these are made (and the reason they don't leak) is the lens is bonded to the reflector housing - so there's no good way to get the CCFL in there... I don't know if they'd come apart when baked like some other lights...

IF you could get them apart, ideally you'd need a ring with a 3 1/4" outside diameter. That would fit snugly inside the lens. Something a little smaller would work (no smaller than 3").

Boo. My current irony is that the 2500s leak like crazy, yet I can't seem to get them to open up without breaking the lens.

Thanks for looking I've gotta figure out a solution pretty soon.

I'm actually driving lightless now... took them off for a trackday this week... after being completely convinced for 2+ years that the car wouldn't look right without the lights, I'm liking the cleaner look... I miss the extra lumens at night, though... I'll put the back on for events where I can really make use of them (like Midnight on the Dragon).

The badges make up for the lack of lights on the front.

On a side note, who's white mini is that behind yours? I like the joey modded lights with the chrome ring still showing.

Thanks for the updates Paul. I agree, I like the cleaness of no lights on your car too. Maybe you could incorporate a hidden set of smaller rectangular driving lights somewhere on the car. Probably down in the lower grill of your car, kind of like the Audis have. That way they wouldn't be as noticeable, but you could still light up the night.

And Mel, yours are probably not leaking, but just getting really bad condensation. It happens quite often.

Sid/Msfitoy (I think) had a set of very small diameter high intensity driving lights... Might do something like that mounted down low in the top of the lower grille...
