WOW that looks good.. is your car lowered? how may inches from the ground.. it looks like its one fist?... how much and where did you purchase it if you dont mind me asking.

Yes my car is lowered with H-Springs and lower profile tires. I am nervous that this thing is only going to last a few days before I forget its there and rip it off pulling into a driveway or something.

It is about 1/4 inch higher than the plastic shield under the bumper. Not much room to play over big speed bumps or stuff. :impatient

I'll go ahead and ask the question that has been on my mind for a while. My car (unlowered stock, no aero) scrapes when I drive out of my driveway, which is NOT very sloped, unless I go real slow or hit the roll-over curb at an angle. How do lowered cars and cars with front spoilers manage? Do you just consider some places off-limits - like I can't get there from here?

 

I give it two weeks ...

I have never seen this style without damage..

 

a hint, my wife's mini scrapes on our driveway (really gentle curb), but when she backs it in instead, its a non-issue. The departure angle is better than the approach angle (funny to use off-roading terms to describe the mini, but I think thats it). When you do scrape the front, most of the time, its not actually the front lip that scrapes, theres a piece underneath that scrapes first, if you get under the car you'll see it.

 

I know, I know. I want that steering wheel and short shift kit, but my money seems to be going towards Head, header, cam and really big hood scoops. I wish I would have never seen your steering wheel, Glen. You make me spend even more money!

Yeah, my buddy had his for all of 3 days... hit a bump on the road and shredded it right off the car... talk about frustration. I think it's a hot look, but for real roads, it just isn't going to work out for long whatsoever.

 

I've had mine for for almost six months now, no problems. I'm lowered like you on H-sports, with 40 profile tires on 17"s. It will require some careful driving on your part, but as long as you secured it with the proper size (read thick) bolts and nuts, you should be ok. Don't test it on speed bumps though.

 

Well,

I found out this morning that the car does not fit in a carwash. Had to get it handwashed.

Guess from now on I will have to wash it myself.

My excuse is that there are not any "do it" your self places near here, and if you use the water out of the hose it is very hard here. It will leave lots of calcium spots unless you have an external water softner.

Will this splitter fit on a NON S bumper? And if so, has anybody done it or have any pics of it??

I'd love a front splitter but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get anywhere with it on.

i tried putting it on my non-S 05 bumper. no it will not fit

 

I just heard that too! guess I'll have to go add that to the Spec sheet.

 

Oh, bummer! I guess I'll have to stick with the extremelly over-priced NKB... :sigh: was hoping for a steal of a deal.

Or wait! Is there any difference between the '05 bumper and the earlier '02s? Now I'm asking too much, aren't I? lol. Sorry...
