I recently had the car repainted BRG/B(Got a great deal on the car... had to sacrifice getting the LY/W). The cheap way out... yeah, I know, but what's done is done. The folks (pretty sure they used the "southwest non-taxed laborers" if you know what I mean) at the shop didn't bother to tape over the letters on the hatch or even study them for a second to aid in re-applying them. Now I'm ashamed to drive around much longer in an otherwise beautiful vehicle with the letters all jacked up.
I'd like to take them off and put them back on in their original positions but I don't know what to use for adhesive.
Does anybody know how much new letters w/adhesive backing cost at the dealership?
If you order after-market boot stripes, I think you get a new badge with them. Why did you repaint? How about some pics? Before & after would really be cool.

I just went to the dealership to purchase an additional "S" to put on the intercooler tray. It turns out that you have to purchase the "S" along with the "Cooper".
The intermittent rain lately combined w/a dusty emnironment makes for bad car pics. Leaving for a trip to NY tomorrow so a wash and wax isn't on my priority list, but when I get a chance I will post some in my gallery.
The letters are held on with 3m body tape. It comes in grey or white in various widths. You can it wide enough to place on the entire back of the letter and the trim the excess away with a sharp razor blade.

This is exactly what I did to reapply the original cooper letters after my boot strip install (which I've done since the picture in my sig was taken, so you won't see it there). It works great...just a little tedious trimming away the excess tape.
