Black door handles + Gas cap and Black Logo?

The title says it.. do you guys know where I could find this stuff? I have a mini cooper s and I am working on dechroming it a bit.

I would love to just take off the mini logo ( already took off the cooper S chrome part).. but I hear there are holes underneath or something? So then I am thinking of making it bit unique. Perhaps painting it black or something? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You can check out my thread. I just did my handles and gas cap with Hi-Temp BBQ paint. Came out great.

I was also thinking if I should paint the Mini Badge or not, I think it might look goofy, LoL

I'm curious as to how you do the badge...the M7 car has it done....but I'm drawing a mind blank and cannot think who owns it....

I used black vinyl on my front and rear MINI emblems, and on the COOPER S on the boot. I'll try to post pics later.

hmmm you sure you arent talking about jomo's (johnmonk) ride which looks a lot like the M7 car (but isnt). He has the wings painted black

He discusses blacking out the wings here: http://www.motoringunderground.com/f...ht=black+wings

IMO, you really should consider having them done by a pro if you do the paint thing... Since the handles and cap get touched a lot, the paint will almost certainly chip very soon if you don't have the parts sanded, etch-primered and sealed.

I'm sure a dealership could steer you towards a part number. These are the kinds of items that usually survive a salvage situation as well - I'd do a Google search on "used auto parts" or "auto salvage"... there are several places that have their inventory online and that will ship. That might save you some money, anyway.

Happy hunting!

I had the front one removed when I had my hood re-sprayed. Quoted $250 to do the rear as well. You have to have it done professionally as the holes in the sheet metal have to be filled, sanded, and primed as well as painted.

Myself and a few of my buddies had ours all done (Headlight Surrounds, Handles, Repeaters and Petrol Lids) by the same shop... not cheap, but the quality was amazing. Go professional if you can!

AZMCS, I was refering to painting the logo's, not removing them. I know what is invovled in removing them! Looks GREAT though!

no wonder I don't remember the emblem on the M7 car. They weren't on the car at MOTD!! I had to go back and look at my pics to figure out WTF you guys were talking about

My husband just taped off his headlights, gas cap, side markers and handles and painted them matte black with some wheel spray paint. He did sand them first.

The Black out "quest" looks like something for a pro.
Not a DYI.
Next question, gloss, matte or pro luster blk?
What do you all like?

The handles are the hardest chrome pieces to remove IMO. There are some pics in my gallery of some blacked out pieces. Shoot me a PM if you want some info/help.
