Thanks to being rear-ended a few weeks ago, my MINI is now worth $400 less than it was before the accident, so I'm getting that in straight cash!! I'd like to put most of it back in the MINI, and since I'm really only into interior and exterior mods, I figured this would be the place to ask - how should I spend it??? The Euro parcel tray is a definite, but after that, I'm not sure what else. New exhaust tips (like I had asked about before)? Tinting? A few small things? One big thing? Help me spend it!!

I could use a new iPod Turcicus.

OK, seriously, Good call on the Euro Tray. Also, I'd consider an iPod adapter or Aux Audio Input; an aftermarket shift ****; driving lights; Aero Grille (if you don't have one already).

Nice problem to have!

How about a custom painted interior to spice up your MINI?

How could you get that cash difference in the value (pre accident vs. post accident) of the vehicle? I, too, was involved in an accident that has been assessed by my insurance company at 4k worth of damage incurred by my vehicle. Not my fault, tho.

Rear-ended? I assume you have to fix the rear. Why don't you get an aero kit? what a better excuse

I just requested it from my insurance company. It's called a dimunition of value adjustment. The repairs are all done and paid for (by my insurance company, as the other driver was uninsured), so this is in addition to that. And it's straight cash, so I can do with it what I wish. Don't get me wrong, though, I did have to jump through a couple hoops to get it. First, you have to bring it up. They won't say anything about it unless you request the adjustment. Second, I had to hire an appraiser to come view the repairs and determine how much he thought the value of the car had been changed. Then my insurance company had their own appraiser come take a look.

Call your insurance company (or the insurance company of the other person - which ever one you're dealing with) and get it on file right now that you want the adjustment. A word of caution, though - it's not allowed in some states.

It's already fixed. And trust me, I considered it.

Here are a couple of options:

Paint the interior like Skitell said
Whalen Shift ****
Short Shifter
Euro Parcel Tray
Window Tint
Other Tint's (tails, sides, etc.)
Shorty Antenna
Rims
Tires
Scoop
M7 Splitter
M7 Ultimate Grilles
Springs
Brakes
etc.
And of course, the Aerokit.

Hope that helps some.
